Dear readers, As GRANDER® celebrates its 40th anniversary this year, we would like to follow the tradition of taking a look back in history to our beginnings – but also looking ahead to a promising future.

When my father, Johann Grander, founded this family en-terprise 40 years ago, the world was profoundly different from how it is today. Yet his views, for instance regarding the environment, are as relevant as ever, bearing proof to the fact that my father was a true visionary. ‘There is no greater teacher than nature,’ he once said. By listen-ing closely to nature and being curious and inventive and through his fascination for the element of water, he made a discovery that has improved the daily life of hun-dreds of thousands of users around the globe ever since while simultaneously protecting nature: GRANDER® wa-ter revitalization. Excellent taste, a pleasant feeling on the skin, increased vitality, and a boost in sustainability as well as savings as the required amount of cleaning agents and the like is reduced: so many perks are asso-ciated with water revitalization. And the list is getting longer as numerous satisfied users keep reporting back to us. Already 40 years ago, my father established a new understanding of water, which more than one million people adhere to today: a healthful life begins with re-vitalized water.

The values he held to then are another thing that have not changed since the discovery of water revitalization: to this day, GRANDER® is about family, solidarity, and sustainability. After all, these values mutually depend on and enforce each other – as a family enterprise, we consider sustainability and environmental protection to be key in order to preserve this beautiful planet also for future generations. Our products, water revitalization systems that run entirely without electricity or chemicals and require no maintenance, are as sustainable as our mindset: they help shape the environment of tomorrow.

I would like to add one more thing on the topic of ‘fam-ily’: in the past 40 years, an international GRANDER® community has formed that feels like a large family. It is made up of GRANDER® consultants at various locations, GRANDER® sales partners on all continents, and, last but not least, the numerous GRANDER® customers and us-ers. We owe so much to their trust and support. In return, water revitalization contributes to improving the qual-ity of their lives on a daily basis. Water revitalization is a good choice for anyone who seeks to live consciously: in harmony with nature as well as body and soul. Together, we have accomplished so much already, and we will continue to make a difference in future.

Today, GRANDER® water revitalization can be found around the globe. More than one million people have benefited of this discovery and can no longer imagine life without GRANDER® revitalized water. It all started 40 years ago – with a man who unwaveringly followed his path.

A man who stood by his beliefs

Johann Grander, born in Jochberg close to Kitzbühel in 1930, did not receive secondary education due to the World War. When he was 13 years old, the authorities de-cided that he should drive a tractor instead of attending school. He later married, founded a family, and provided for them as a truck driver, gas station operator, and con-crete foreman. Recurring knee issues and his wife’s back pain inspired him to make adjustments to and use the electrical nerve stimulation device his father had put to-gether himself. Seeing the remarkable impact on pain relief, he grew increasingly interested in stimulation cur-rents and magnets. Finally, Johann Grander quit his job to fully dedicate his time to his experiments. Many peo-ple thought he was naive when they saw him retreat to his garage with a big pile of books. His family, however, knew that he was not wasting his time. The older ones of the overall eight siblings contributed to the family’s income while Johann Grander turned his garage into a workshop and laboratory for experiments. He first con-structed generators; later, he manufactured a magnetic motor. In 1979, he presented his first invention with a larger impact, the magnetic roller, a therapeutic nerve stimulation device, at the Austrian inventors’ fair in Vi-enna, where he was awarded the gold medal by the in-ventors’ association. In the course of his experiments, he went on to drown quite a few old hair dryers and radios in a bathtub filled with water, simultaneously producing an electric current with his generator – with great suc-cess: he never suffered an electric shock.

It was Minka, the family’s cat, who finally inspired him to discover water revitalization: Johann Grander observed that she was always eager to drink from the bucket hold-ing the water he had used for his experiments with mag-netic motors. There had to be something about this wa-ter. He investigated the cause and discovered changes in the ‘treated’ water using his microscope. From this day on, he was spellbound by water, carrying out numerous experiments and tests with various types of water. Soon, neighbors and friends came by to taste this ‘water of Mr. Grander,’ always commenting on its positive qualities. A small shed newly built in the garden served as a ‘thinkers’ workshop.’ It was there that the first water revitalization device was built. The acquisition of the current company premises was the next step in the development. Togeth-er with his son Johann junior, Johann Grander built the first water revitalization device by hand. The building housing the company today was built in 1992, which also marked the start of business relations in China and Russia. In 2000, Johann Grander received the silver med-al of honor from the Russian Academy of Natural Sci-ences, which counts more than 20 Nobel Prize winners among its members, for his discoveries related to the

element of water. One year later, he was awarded the Austrian Cross of Honor for Science and Art for ‘his life-time achievement, the discovery of water revitalization.’

Johann Grander died on 24  September  2012, with his family at his bedside. In 2019, his wife Ingeborg passed away.

His son Johann was his main collaborator in develop-ing water revitalization. Today, he heads the company together with his siblings, building on the basis their father established. Four of his overall seven siblings are involved in the family business.

Today, GRANDER® is available in most European coun-tries as well as in the USA and countries in Asia, South and Central America, and North Africa. More than 400,000 customers and more then one million users benefit from the numerous positive effects provided by GRANDER® revitalized water.

Uncovering the secrets of water

Water, the source of all life, is fundamentally basic and profoundly mysterious at the same time. Researchers keep unveiling new findings about water that change the way we think about the element.

To celebrate the 40th business anniversary of GRANDER®, IPF Implosions Photonenfeld Forschung und Vertrieb GmbH hosted a refreshing water symposium that revo-lutionized what we know and understand about water.

Top representatives of the global water industry and research community traveled to Kitzbühel to attend the international symposium under the slogan #water-revolution 4.0. Intriguing lectures delivered by renowned speakers addressed the state of the art in water research and opened up new perspectives to the visitors.

These aspects were reflected in the symposium’s slogan: a revolution is a profound change in the existing research on a topic. 4.0 emphasizes that uncovering new knowl-edge about water is a still ongoing process that has al-ready seen many revolutions in the past.

#waterrevolution 4.0Prof. Dr. ir. C.J.N. (Cees) Buisman was one of the renowned scientists attending the congress. He is the scientific director of WETSUS, the largest water research organization in the EU.

Dr. Elmar C. Fuchs heads the Applied Water Physics re-search group, of which GRANDER® is a member, at WET-SUS. He talked about the latest findings regarding the floating water bridge, a fascinating symbiosis of water and electricity, and presented a water phenomenon that helps explain a part of the GRANDER® effect.

Dr. med. Kirsten Deutschländer is chief physician at the Inntaler Hof clinic in Neuburg am Inn, Germany. As a general practitioner also specialized in naturopathy and psychotherapy, she has intensively explored the topic of water research in the field of medicine. She also carried out a research project on ‘good water’ and its effects on the human body.

Prof. Dr. rer. nat. Peter C. Dartsch is a biochemist and expert in human physiology as well as workplace and environmental toxicology. He also heads an institute specialized in cytological research. He discussed the im-pact of GRANDER® water on human cells.

Professor Yuri Rakhmanin is a world-renowned ex-pert in the field of water research. The former Russian delegate on the topic of water at the WHO currently advises more than 20 institutions in Russia and, among other things, supervised the health experiments carried out at the space station Mir.

Dr. med. Bernhard Pollner knows much about an unknown world: the natural bacterial flora found in un-treated water. These bacteria have received very little attention to date – not least because it is so difficult to conventionally grow them. New procedures, however, allow researchers to detect and describe every single bacterium found in water. Dr. Pollner addressed the fas-cinating findings gained through a combination of flow cytometric methods and analysis algorithms.

Prof. (FH) Dr. Astrid Paulitsch-Fuchs discussed how the availability of calcium impacts microorganisms in water. She also talked about the factors influencing its availability, complementing the contribution by Dr. Fuchs, who was also a speaker at the congress. Dr. Pau-litsch-Fuchs’ research opens up a whole new chapter in water biology. ›
