The Capuchin JPIC is an institution founded by the
Capuchin Order of Medan Province under the auspices
of the Capuchin Justice Peace Integrity of CreationFoundation, in accordance with the decree of the
Ministry of justice and Human Rights of the Republic of
Indonesia No. C-1252.HT.01.TH 2005.
VISION
To struggle for Justice, Peace and Integrity of Creation in
the spirit of St. Francis of Assisi by bringing in to reality
common welfare, developing the mind of the life of the
nation and creating a universal brotherhood andsisterhood.
MISSION
1. To build and maintain a universal brotherhood andsisterhood free of the divisions of ethnicity, religion,
race, culture and group at local, national and
international levels
2. To struggle for the creation of justice among humanbeings and all creatures to bring about the integrity of
creation
3. To say no to all forms of violence, intimidation andexploitation of creatures
ACTIVITIESWhen the tsunami violently struck Nias and Aceh, theCapuchin JPIC under the banner of JARKAS (Jaringan
Kasih = Charity Network), in collaboration with donors
participated in helping our brother and sister victims with
several activities:
a. Distributing food supplies and tents during theemergency phase
b. Constructing dwelling house and commercialbuildings in Meulaboh and Simeleu Island in Aceh,
c. Providing books for schoolsAfter the tsunami the Capuchin JPIC focused its activities
on fostering the values of Justice, Peace and Integrity ofCreation for the building up a universal brotherhood and
sisterhood without regard to ethnicity, religion, race,
culture and groups; through the following activities:
a. Animation/ raising awareness of valuesb. Formation and accompaniment of groups of
marginalized people
c. Reinforcing peoples economyd. Advocacy of public policye. Advocacy of environment issuesf. Love for the environmental movement
To date the Capuchin JPIC has constantly accompanied
three groups of people:
1. Ecological Farmers Charity Network (EFCN) in theKaro Region EFCN consists of 18 groups spread in 18
villages. Its objective is to convert chemical farming
system into ecological farming systems. The EFCNteam conducts training for members on how to produce
compost and biopesticide using natural raw materials
which are available in the places where the farmers live.
EFCN has also obtained a compost center from the
Agriculture Department of the District Government
where organic trash is processed into compost.
2. Fishermen Charity Network in Sialang BuahThe Capuchin JPIC in collaboration with the Ugahari
Micro Credit Bank (???BPR) Tanjung Morawa has
facilitated light loans for providing boats and fishingequipment for 27 fishermen who are divided into three
assisted groups.
With this light loan those fishermen will not be trapped
by their debts to profiteers, the sense of oneness is
strengthened and the welfare of the fishermen is
improved through the accompaniment and formation of
the Capuchin JPIC.
3. Harbor Workers Charity Network in BelawanIn collaboration with the Ugahari Micro Credit Bank
Tanjung Morawa The Capuchin JPIC facilitates light
loans for providing staple supplies for 230 workermembers accompanied by the Capuchin JPIC.
Furthermore, the Capuchin JPIC assists the workers to
struggle for their rights around the Belawan harbor.
Besides closely and routinely assisting the above three
groups, the Capuchin JPIC ia also active in the following
activities:
a- Raising awareness and implanting values ofjustice, peace and integrity of creation to various
groups of society and schools
b- High lighting the issue of forest destruction at thefringe of Lake Toba
c- Tackling mining issues in DairiCollaborating with the Government Forestry Department to
facilitate supplying tree seedlings for the green movement.

COMMUNITY
(JPIC COMMUNITY)
JPIC COMMUNITY is one part of the program of the
Capuchin JPIC to unite in a community those members of
the society, who are concerned about issues on Justice,
Peace and Integrity of Creation.
Through this community the Capuchin JPIC invites
Brothers and Sisters to get involved in activities managed
by the Capucin JPIC either directly or indirectly.
Direct involvement:To become volunteers periodically at JPIC movement
either at the JPIC office or/and in the field according to
the capacity and skill of the individual member.
Indirect involvement:
To become a permanent donor to JPIC
To give voluntar contribution either in the form of goods
or money
Or other forms according to the members ability.
The rights of the JPIC COMMUNITY Members:
1. To receive periodical reports on the use ofdonations
2. To receive a Bulletin of the Capuchin JPICspelling out the various activities of the
Capuchin JPIC
3. To attend the JPIC COMMUNITY meetingswhich will be held periodically to make
evaluation together
