New members Jim andIrene Preston.

We were pleased to have TRENT RUSH as our speaker at theFebruary 12th meeting. It was informative and fun to have such aknowledgeable Angels’ fan take our questions and give us insightinto the 2018 season, like a possible 6-pitcher rotation and ournew players. This isTrent’s 4th season with theAngels. He won the2017 Golden Mike Award for Best Sports Reporting in SouthernCalifornia for his “Trent Rush Sports Page” on AM830. Besidesbeing the host of the Angels Post Game Recap show, he is theweekday morning sports reporter for the radio station. He hascalled play by play for UCI men’s basketball and many other sports. He likes to be “super interactive” with fans.

Trent says he sees things through an optimistic lens, so his goalon the radio show is to be honest without bashing or trashinganyone. He’ll say when he disagrees with actions by players andcoaches, but gives the benefit of the doubt to those who have adifferent take on things.

Trent is a local guy; he went to Orange Lutheran High Schooland Chapman University. He grew up as anAngels fan and is happythat his job is to do what he loves. And, just like many of us, he ishappy that Vlad Guerrero will be going into the Hall of Fame asan Angel.

He told us that Mike Scioscia has respect for the players and

is very good at teaching the game of baseball. He has helped anumber of new players and veterans improve their game.Trentmentioned the depth of theAngels Farm System and what it meantfor the future, the acquisition of new players and what they bringto the Angels organization, the positive culture in the Angelsclubhouse, and how General Manager Billy Eppler has helped buildthe team. He said he has had many memorable interviews butprobably best remembers his interview with Albert Pujols afterhis 600th Home Run.

Thank youTrent – and you are welcome any time!
