India never ceases to inspire me. From the architecture, to the spices, to the art forms and lastly, my most favorite inspiration, the people.

SinSince I first was exposed to the art of block printing almost five years ago, I could almost smell indigo oozing from each of the

prints. It is one of the oldest dyes to be used for textiles. The first ever uses of indigo are traced back to India in the early 1800’s.

One of my favorite friends here, Jum Iyer, who originally introduintroduced me to traditional Indian art forms, is an amazingly

artistic and bold woman full of humility and justice. She is a young 86 years old, who wears stylish Ray Bans and Sari’s every day and

has an absolutely magical collection of indigo clothing.

My favorite of hers is a border blocked indigo sari, which inspired me to create this line. I dedicate this line to Jum. The woman whointroduintroduced me to the art of block printing and has inspired me to

find colors and prints in all the nooks and crannies of this beautiful world.
