ITINERARY Day 1 - Saturday, August 15: Anchorage, AK We will meet in Anchorage - known as the City of Lights and Flowers – where Air Journey will greet you at the Anchorage Marriott. In the afternoon there will be a meeting where all participants will attend a very detailed briefing covering the general procedures of our Journey. We’ll cover the route, regulations, flight plan, safety, weather, etc. We’ll end the day with a welcome cocktail before dinner. Covered in vegetation right to the waterline, these green islands, vertically erected from the water, create a labyrinth in perfectly calm turquoise lagoons, with hidden marine lakes, rocky arches, caverns and surrounded by a rich reef (home to over 700 coral species and over a 1,000 species of fish, dugongs, sharks and more). We begin with a nature walk through the alpine forest. Bird life proliferates in the forests of Papua New Guinea, including many species of Birds of Paradise—of the 43 known species, 38 are found in Papua New Guinea. These birds can be seen performing bizarre ritualistic and mating dances. Hunted by early traders for their brilliantly colored feathers, the flamboyant Huli Wigmen of the Tari Valley formed a strong bond between themselves and these beautiful birds. There will be a technical stop at Port Moresby, New Guinea. We will fly from Cairns to Hamilton Island, the most northerly island resort located directly on the Great Barrier Reef. Voted one of the top ten island resorts in the world, it is renowned for spectacular fishing and world famous diving opportunities. There’ll be time for afternoon tea and visit the 'Beach Club' to be personally fitted with fins, mask & snorkel for the duration of your stay. This afternoon we’ll visit Seal Bay - home to Australia’s third largest colony of Australian sea lions. Day 33 - Wednesday, September 16: Kununurra Design your morning by selecting from a bird watching tour, gorge walk or culture, history and nature tour. All three tours are guided. During the 3km journey, you will enjoy the diverse flora and fauna, resident Rock Wallabies, Johnston Crocodiles and the always cheeky Archer Fish – which are all familiar inhabitants of the gorge. Day 34 - Thursday, September 17: Kununurra Today is at leisure to enjoy activities offered at the hotel. Optional activities include one of Australia’s natural wonders, the World Heritage Listed Bungle Bungle Range - a unique sandstone formation dating back 350 million years. This two hour aeroplane flight from El Questro’s airstrip takes you first over Lake Argyle and the Carboyd Range. Before entering the 240,000 ha Purnululu National Park, the Bungle Bungle massif rises 300m out of the desert to meet you. For the next 20 minutes you will discover the awe inspiring striped bee hive domes and gorges of this 350 million year old icon. Orbitting the range take a photo or two of the Gibb Face. See the famous Cathedral Gorge and Piccaninny Gorge, the longest and deepest in the massif.


On the return journey to El Questro, pass over the Argyle Diamond Mine, the largest producer of pink and colored diamonds in the world. It’s a once in a life time experience! Lunch at the Homestead. Air Journey has quoted this itinerary with a minimum participation of 4 airplanes The Registration fee includes:

Extensive Navigation log (airports, route, frequencies, information of airspace, nav-aids, reporting points, international flight plan) tailored for each aircraft;

Flight plans and eAPIS manifest (departure and arrival) filed on your behalf; Pilot briefing prior to each day’s flight; Weather website with constant updates showing TAF, METAR, Wind Aloft, prognostic forecast and review; Fuel availability confirmed along the route of flight; VFR charts, IFR low or high en route (based on aircraft type and pilot’s preferences); Flight bag, a fleece lined jacket, and a collared, cotton shirt for the pilot with his name and aircraft tail number

embroidered on the upper front. Additional jackets and shirts are included for each passenger. Cancellation Policy:

i) Given outside of 120 days of departure: AJ retains $500 per person and plane registration fee ii) Between 120 and 90 days of departure: AJ retains 50% of tour cost and plane registration fee iii) Between 89 and 60 days of departure: AJ retains 75% of tour cost and plane registration fee iv) Less than 60 days or no show of departure: AJ retains 100% of tour cost and plane registration fee

Note: Travel and Cancellation Insurance is strongly recommended and is not included in the package but it can be purchased from Air Journey for about 6% of the cost of the Journey. Also note: Air Journey reserves the right to cancel because of lack of participants (less than 4 airplanes), political unrest, terrorism, or severe weather forecast, in which case Air Journey will issue a full refund.
