Sheila Hicks: Material Voices Catalogue & AcquisitionPublished Joslyn’s first exhibition catalogue since 2008 and acquired Mandan Shrine, a monumental work by Hicks inspired by the work of Karl Bodmer.

World Refugee DayHosted Omaha’s World Refugee Day celebration, attended by over 1,500 guests. The day included a naturalization ceremony for 32 New Americans.

Joslyn ArtpostPaired professional artist mentors with emerging veteran artists who all created art for a community gallery exhibition.

Dirt MeridianPresented photographs by Andrew Moore made along the 100th meridian, including in Nebraska and sold a record 600+ catalogues for this show.

A Transformative GiftExecuted a letter of intent documenting an intended gift of fifty works from the Phillip G. Schrager Collection of Contemporary Art.

Currier & Ives and the Berman CollectionReceived Conagra Brands corporate collection of nearly 600 original Currier & Ives prints and 125 works from Bruce Berman’s renowned collection of photography from the late twentieth century.

Conagra Brands (formerly ConAgra Foods, Inc.) donated its corporate collection of nearly 600 original Currier & Ives prints to Joslyn, giving the Museum one of the largest public collections of these popular and historically important illustrations. ConAgra obtained the Currier & Ives works in the late 1980s when the company acquired Beatrice Foods, the collection’s former owner. Portions of the collection were on display at ConAgra’s Omaha campus, but viewing opportunities for the public were limited, and the majority of the works remained in storage. ConAgra’s generous gift to Joslyn ensures that the collection will be permanently available to share with the Omaha community and beyond.
