Lamb's-quarters. The tankmixes of glyphosate plus s-metolachlor/atrazine plus mesotrione, s -metolachlor/atrazine plus dicamba, s-metolachlor/mesotrione/atrazine, isoxaflutole plus atrazine and dimethenamid plus atrazine all provided excellent full-season control of lamb's -quarters. The tankmixes of glyphosate plus s-metolachlor/atrazine or s-metolachlor provided poor control of lamb's -quarters. Dandelion. The tankmixes of glyphosate plus s-metolachlor, s-metolachlor/atrazine plus mesotrione, s-metolachlor/atrazine plus dicamba, s-metolachlor/mesotrione/atrazine, isoxaflutole plus atrazine and dimethenamid plus atrazine all provided equivalent control of dandelions. The tankmix of glyphosate plus s -metolachlor/atrazine resulted in poorer control of dandelions, possibly indicating antagonism of the glyphosate due to the atrazine. Interestingly, although atrazine was included in most of the other tankmixes, the antagonism must have been off -set by the other active ingredients in the combinations evaluated.

The sequential applications of isoxaflutole plus atrazine applied preemergence followed by a postemergence application of either dicamba, dicamba/diflufenzopyr, dicamba/atrazine or mesotrione + atrazine provided excellent full season control of waterhemp. The preemergence applications of dimethenamid plus dicamba/atrazine provided excellent full season control of waterhemp, s-metolachlor/atrazine plus mesotrione provided fair control and rimsulfuron plus s-metolachlor plus dicamba provided poor control of waterhemp. Corn yields generally corresponded closely with the level of waterhemp control.

All of the herbicide treatments evaluated provided excellent early and full-season control of green foxtail. The preemergence application of s-metolachlor, s-metolachlor/atrazine, dimethenamid-p and s-metolachlor/atrazine plus mesotrione provided excellent full-season control of yellow foxtail. The preemergence application of isoxaflutole + atrazine provided good control and the preemergence application of pendimethalin or rimsulfuron plus s-metolachlor plus dicamba provided only fair control of yellow foxtail. The early postemergence application of rimsulfuron plus s -metolachlor plus dicamba provided excellent control of yellow foxtail. The late postemergence application of nicosulfuron/rimsulfuron, nicosulfuron, nicosulfuron plus Merge, primisulfuron and foramsulfuron all provided excellent control of yellow foxtail in this study. These results will have to be confirmed in future studies.

The early postemergence application of rimsulfuron plus s -metolachlor plus dicamba prov ided excellent control of fall panicum but fair control of crabgrass. The late postemergence application of nicosulfuron/rimsulfuron provided excellent full-season control of crabgrass and fall panicum. The late postemergence application of nicosulfuron provided excellent full-season control of fall panicum and fair control of crabgrass. The late postemergence application of primisulfuron/dicamba provided excellent full-season control of fall panicum and poor control of crabgrass. The late postemergence application of foramsulfuron provided poor control of crabgrass and fall panicum. These results will have to be confirmed in future studies.

The vetch population was variable and therefore these results will have to be confirmed in fut ure studies. There was no injury in corn with the postemergence herbicides evaluated. The postemergence application of 2,4-D/atrazine, rimsulfuron + s-metolachlor + dicamba and foramsulfuron + dicamba/diflufenzopyr provided excellent full season control of vetch. The postemergence application of dicamba, dicamba/diflufenzopyr, dicamba/atrazine, bromoxynil + atrazine, prosulfuron + dicamba, mesotrione, nicosulfuron/rimsulfuron + dicamba/diflufenzopyr, nicosulfuron + dicamba/diflufenzopyr, nicosulfuron + prosulfuron + dicamba, nicosulfuron + mesotrione + atrazine and nicosulfuron + primisulfuron/dicamba provided fair control of vetch. The postemergence application of atrazine and primisulfuron/dicamba provided poor control of vetch.

DANDELION. Glufosinate provided poor control of dandelion in corn. Glyphosate provided only marginal control of dandelion in corn. There was a trend to improved control at the high rate and with the sequential application. The tankmixes of Nicosulfuron/rimsulfuron plus either mesotrione plus atrazine, dicamba/diflufenzopyr or prosulfuron plus dicamba provided only poor to fair control of dandelion. The tankmixes of foramsulfuron plus either mesotrione plus atrazine, dicamba/diflufenzopyr or prosulfuron plus dicamba provided fair to good control of dandelion. Nicosulfuron plus prosulfuron plus dicamba provided fair control of dandelion while nicosulfuron plus primisulfuron/dicamba provided poor control. FIELD BINDWEED. A single application of glufosinate provided no control of field bindweed while the sequential application provided 58% control. Glyphosate provided good control of field bindweed. The tankmixes of nicosulfuron/rimsulfuron plus either mesotrione plus atrazine, dicamba/diflufenzopyr or prosulfuron plus dicamba provided poor control of field bindweed. The tankmixes of foramsulfuron plus either mesotrione plus atrazine, dicamba/diflufenzopyr or prosulfuron plus dicamba provided fair to good control of field bindweed. Nicosulfuron plus prosulfuron plus dicamba provided fair control of field bindweed while nicosulfuron plus primisulfuron/dicamba provided poor control.
