    QuickSticks Hockey Tournament

Well done to the Year 6 students

who were selected to represent the

    school at the QuickSticks Hockey

    event held at Coopers Coburn

    School. The children enjoyed the

day and went on rto reach the o the

quarter final! Well done to Callum

    Enright, Hannah Evans, Sienna

    Flack, Evie Knowles, Archie Powell

    and Joshua Slemmings.

    Year 2 SportsHall event

This week some of our Year 2 children took part in a

sports athletic event at Hornchurch sport centre.

The children did really well, enjoyed the experience and

approached all events with confidence. A massive than-

kyou to the parents and carers that helped us to take the

children to and from school to the event.

    Visit from Shirley Ward

We were lucky enough to have a

visit from Shirley Ward in assem-

bly last week who raises money

for our school from her Shirley

    Ward coach trips. Shirley’s

donation has meant that we were

able to purchase new iPads for

    the school. Thankyou so much

    Shirley!

    World Book day

It may have been a little bit late, but World Book Day was a great success!

Thank you to all the of our children and staff who got into the spirit of things and

dressed up for World Book Day (and to all of the parents who came up with such

    creative costumes).

    Year 4 Roman Workshop

Today our Year 4 pupils took part in the Roman Workshop with another fantastic

visit from ‘History off the page’. The children took a trip back in time and had the

opportunity to take part in mosaic, pot and perfume making. The children put their

acting skills to the test in some role play learning about Roman life AND they had a

delicious feast of cheese and grapes.

    Mother’s Day Sale

Thank you to our wonderful Parents Association who

have been working so hard wrapping presents for

Mother’s Day gifts to help raise funds for the school.

And thank you to all of the parents who sent their

children in with some money to purchase the gifts. Your children have enjoyed picking

your gifts for you and we hope you enjoy opening your presents this Sunday. We wish all

of your mums a lovely weekend!

  • JOPS NEWSLETTER Dr Bike on Wednesday 7th March

Dr Bike came in and held some bike maintenance courses for children in Years 3-5. All children are now able to check their bikes using the A,B,C,D,D check. See if they can remember what that stands for? Dr Bike also checked over the children bikes, made any repairs that were needed and advised the children of the ones they were unable to do due to not having the relevant spanners and BMX parts. The children thoroughly enjoyed the sessions and are now experts on how to check their bikes.
