Jonathan Taylor Thomas – Spanked To Success

Home Improvement Growing up in the acting business I definitely didn't have what you would

consider a normal childhood, but I didn't make a lot of the choices other kid stars from then and now have made. The vast majority of child stars either fade as they grow up or make some really bad choices in life. It seems like more often than not they take a trip down both roads. I knew I didn't want to take the same path that a lot of people have taken, both before and after my career as an actor.

A lot of people don't seem to understand why I left acting, why I didn't finish the last season of Home Improvement, and pretty much went from a teenage idol to a boy missing in action. I guess the main reason I did it was because I was afraid of people losing interest in me, not making it as an adult actor, and most importantly making the same bad choices that some other kids I knew in show biz had made. Looking back I really wish I would have stayed and finished the rest of season eight on Home Improvement and then moved on, but you can't live in the past and life went on. After taking a break from Hollywood I've been attending school, first at Harvard and then at Columbia. Recently I've been working on my masters and am slowing getting back into show biz, this time behind the camera though.

What got me started in Hollywood again was the Home Improvement Reunion the E.T. Weekly set up a few years back. Tim Allen, my television dad, knew I always wanted to take a shot at directing and offered me the chance with his new ABC Family, Last Man Standing. Something else Tim reminded me of was the fact that I was the only child star he has ever

worked with who was spanked on set so many times, even as a teenager. I hated it back then, and even when he brought it up at the reunion it was still a sore spot with me. Those spankings were definitely the most humiliating moments of my life. Sometimes they were behind closed doors in my dressing room, other times they were right there for everyone to see. Tim did have a good point though, he credits part of my successful adult life to the fact that my actions had consequences unlike so many other actors. He makes a good point, and looking back with a perspective on it, I'm glad I was spanked into shape, I just wish it wouldn't of taken so many times for it to burn into my brain!

The first time I was ever spanked on set was actually while working on the first season of Home Improvement, Me and Zachery Ty Bryon had been messing around the entire day and wouldn't focus on our lines or what we should have been doing. By lunchtime I guess Tim was fed up with putting up with us two knuckleheads and came up with an old fashioned solution. He was sitting at the dining room table on the set that we had all gathered around so many times during the series. I remember him taking Zachery, who like me was ten years old at the time, by the arm and quickly lowering his jeans to his ankles and pulling him over his lap. My T.V. brother was screaming for our on-screen dad to stop and

let him up. Tim had only landed a few moderate smacks across Zachery’s boxers before his mom ran onto set demanding that Tim let her son up. Mrs. Bryon was chewing Tim out while ensuring that her “Little Boy” was gonna be okay, give me a break!

It wasn’t long before my mom quickly interrupted her and told Tim that he may not be able to spank Zach for his behavior but was free to warm up my bottom whenever I needed it. Tim had actually became hesitant because of what happened with Zach and wasn’t going to give me a spanking. Well if he wasn’t going to do it my mom said she was, so it looked like either way I was getting my tail warmed. Now Tim might have been quite a bit stronger than my mom, but trust me she was one mean spanker! I walked over to Tim and told him it was okay if he spanked me, lowered my

overalls and laid across his lap. I just laid there across his lap in just my underwear while him and Mom talked. After what seemed like an eternity he began landing his hand down across my white briefs. The spanking hurt, but was nowhere near as bad as Mom’s spoon or hairbrush. The spanking didn’t last very long, maybe a whole minute. I hadn’t even started to cry and was barely sobbing and shifting around as Tim stood me up and ruffled my hair, giving me an approving smile.

Surprisingly no one ever mentioned or teased me about that spanking, and trust me there was plenty of witnesses to it! Luckily for me that scene was a closed screening, meaning there wasn’t a live

audience there and the cameras weren't rolling. That was the first spanking on the set of Home Improvement, but definitely wasn’t the last. I don’t remember every single time Tim or Mom swatted my bottom, after all I spend a lot of time there over those next seven years. Thankfully though I only received one more pants down spanking with my T.V. Brothers or anyone else standing there watching, but I imagine that they heard plenty more smacks landing on both my cotton covered and bare bottom. I think the fact that I was the only one of three boys that got spanked and the fact that it made me behave better made my relationship with Tim Allen was much stronger than Zachs or Tarans. I’m definitely not saying that I was a perfectly well behaved kid, I was definitely a true boy and found myself into trouble regularly, sometimes solo and other times with my on screen brothers on set or at home with my friends. Like any kid, especially boys, I often pushed the limits and either got away with it or was standing there trying to look cute and innocent. Sometimes I was able to charm myself out of trouble, other times I wasn’t so lucky!

Every time I messed up and made some poor choices my pants weren’t coming down, my nose got to know a lot of different corners and spend a lot of time in them while my ears heard a million different lectures. Taran Noah Smith & Zachary Ty Bryon might not have gotten there tails warmed up, but they were much more acquainted with the corners of that studio then I was. But overall they pretty much were brats and I really didn’t want anything to do with them.

The most memorable spanking I got during Home Improvement came a few seasons into the series and is one of the hardest spankings I ever remember getting. Zach, Taran, and me had been going at it all day long about pretty much everything, I can’t even remember exactly what we were fighting about but finally I had enough. Taran had said something that really got underneath my skin and I punched him right in the face. Taran is a few years younger than me and I think I was around 13 at the time so he would have been about 10 years old. As soon as I saw that first

drop of blood fall from his nose I knew my bottom was going to be the same exact color really soon. I remember everyone on set stopping what they were doing, it was like someone had pressed pause. I just stood there why everybody walked over to where “Little Mark” was crying and comforted him, a fist to the face hurts but trust me when I say he was milking the attention to get me in more trouble. After Mark was all cleaned up my mom came over to me and we had a “conversation” about my behavior and how it wasn’t okay to punch somebody, especially someone

three years younger than me. I felt like arguing the fact that he started it, plus it was kinda a fair fight because we were actually about the same size at that point, but I was smart and kept my mouth shut and just kept apologizing and saying things like “Yes Ma’am.” I followed my mother over to a chair right off of the set and as she continued to lecture me she started to undo my jeans, after they were lowered what she did next made me start crying before a single swat landed.

Before she pulled me over her lap she hooked her fingers into by red and blue boxer briefs and pulled them down to join my jeans around my ankles. Now I don’t think it is possible to embarrass a 13 year old boy any more than by baring his bottom for a spanking in front of 50 people, including other adolescent boys. Now I’ve always been on the small side, but I was pretty fast grower when it came to puberty. I’m not saying I’m giant down there, but I am probably above average size. Even my 13 years old my privates had a nice forest of hair around them. My face might have looked ten but my pecker looked at least 14 or maybe even 15.

Thankfully she didn’t leave me standing there exposed for too long, but my new position wasn’t much better. She trapped my legs under her right leg and thats when I noticed the hairbrush she had. I dreaded the hairbrush more than anything, at least I did at that point in my life. I hadn’t “graduated” to the belt or switch yet.

Well she didn’t take too long before she landed that dreaded hair brush across my left butt cheek. My mom always spanked in a similar pattern, the next stroke of the brush landed on my right cheek. Every spanking she gave me always started with the first stroke landing on the center of my butt, followed by one right above it and then one right below the first red splats. I remember that brush landing in the same pattern over and over, three swats to my left rump and then three identical swats to the right.

Mom never spanked for a certain amount of time or number of swats, she spanked until she had a sorry and crying little boy over her lap. After I had a steady flow of tears running down my face and I was crying like a naughty six year old she moved on with my spanking. Mom’s grand finale to every spanking I ever got from her was my age in swats applied to my sit spots. I hated this part for a couple of reasons, first off it hurt ten times more than the bulk of the spanking and secondly I could feel it every time I sat down over the next few hours. After she finished setting a fire to my entire butt she released my legs and pulled me into a hug, I remember crying into her shoulder as she rubbed my back for a good ten minutes. After I regained my composure I was dressed again and was forced to apologize to Mark. I think that the smirk on his face was worse than the spanking. I actually think that if I would have been given an option to take another spanking instead of the apology I would have taken it. Well only if there would have been a gap between ‘em!

Those were the most memorable two spankings I can think of right now while on the set of Home Improvement. Those were the downsides of my 7 year journey on the show,

but I really did love being on Home Improvement. Us boys did fight and hate each other at times but 99% of the memories from then are happy ones. I had a lot of fun and learned a lot from everyone there, especially Tim. We may not have been a real family, but we were the next best thing. When I look back at it now, what kind of siblings would we have been if we actually got along?

There were plenty of other spankings during the years I had the role of Randy on Home Improvement, both while working and at home. The writers even joked about adding some spankings to the script for me since I was always getting one! Thankfully that never happened, at least not on the set of Home Improvement.

Honestly my favorite acting project was Home Improvement, but out of all the movies I acted in my favorite one would have to be Tom and Huck, which was released in 1995. I played the character of Tom Sawyer. I honestly think that this is the only Tom Sawyer movie where he doesn't get some sort of spanking. I know several movies filmed over the years have had multiple spankings in them, at the school house and from Aunt Polly, but mine didn't air with any, even though I had to suffer through my first switching. I'll work on that story next!
