9th JointKorean-German Conference
ADeKoThe alumni network Germany-Korea (ADeKo) e.V. is the world’s largest and only national-levelnetwork of Koreans who are affiliated with Germany. It was established in 2006 as a part ofthe ADeKo (Das Alumninetzwerk Deutschland-Korea) project by BMBF(German FederalMinistry of Education and Research) and it is registered as a corporation with the KoreanMinistry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA).
ADeKo Joint Korean-German Conference
This year, the 9th Joint Korean-German Conference will be held at the Kimdaejung ConventionCenter in Gwangju from Oct 16 ~18, 2017 under the theme of “Engineering for our Future”.The Joint Korean-German Conference is one of the major events for German-Koreancooperation. Until 2015, the conference was hosted in Korea annually but from 2016, the twocountries started to take turns hosting the conference. In 2017, the conference will be hostedoutside of Seoul for the first time in Gwangju and in 2018, the conference is scheduled to beheld in Aachen, Germany. Approximately 500 participants including scholars, policymakers,businessmen and scientists will take part in this year’s Conference.
Theme
Under the main theme of “Engineering for our Future”, sessions on Sustainable Energy andE-mobility, Robotics and Automation, Healthcare and Medical Technology, and SmartMetropolitan Planning will be held at 9th ADeKo Joint Korean-German Conference.
