For the first time, there are almost half a million youth lacrosse

players in the United States. Lacrosse continues to be the fastest

growing team sport at both the high school and collegiate levels.

Over the last 5 years…

• School sponsored lacrosse programs have grown by 27%.

• NCAA school sponsored lacrosse programs have grown by 33%.

OVER 4 YEARS, A HIGH SCHOOL LACROSSE PLAYER COULD SPEND UPWARDS OF $5,000 JUST TO JOIN THE LACROSSE TEAM.

The bottom line—without funding, lacrosse expenses puts an unfair

financial burden on players and families. The rising costs are so

significant that often, families are forced to pull their kids from the

sport entirely.

As lacrosse is not a sanctioned high school sport in Washington,

the cost prevents many players from even walking onto the

field. Without access to funding or support, the average high

school player can expect to spend $800-$1,000 per high school

season.

Expenses include:

• referees

• gear

• additional travel expenses for tournaments and playoffs

Lacrosse provides a much-needed alternative to football and contact sports—

for some athletes, it’s their only exposure to athletics and teamwork.

IT’S OUR GOAL TO GROW CAMAS LACROSSE WHILE MAKING THE SPORT MORE AFFORDABLE AND ACCESSIBLE FOR PLAYERS AND FAMILIES.

• Help reduce the overall cost to youth

and high school Camas players.

• Provide financial assistance through

our scholarship fund to Camas lacrosse

families.

• Expand our girls lacrosse program.

• Provide scholarship assistance at the

college level.

• Engage in community service

opportunities within Camas.

• Keep growing—bring 40 new kids to the

sport each year.

• Make lacrosse a well-known sport

through community outreach and

involvement.

• Create a fall and summer club for

1st-12th grade.
