Join A Meeting Using Zoom Step by Step Guide to Successfully Join / Participate in Zoom Meeting
1. Below is the meeting link for the PSYCH 311 class. Click on the link and follow the
prompts.
Join from PC, Mac, Linux, iOS or Android: https://csusb.zoom.us/j/981177440
2. This window will pop up, once the link is clicked. If you have not used Zoom before, it
will prompt you to download the software. Click on the zoom installer at the bottom of
the window.
3. Follow this process to continue to download the software.
4. Once downloaded, you will automatically join the meeting. Click Join Audio to listen to
your course.
5. Make sure your microphone is muted, and your video is turned off.
6. During the class, if you would like to ask a question, please use the Raise Hand feature
or the Chat feature. To Raise Hand (A), first, click on Participants (B) on the bottom tool
bar, then click Raise Hand. When you raise your hand, please wait for someone to
acknowledge you, then you can verbally ask your question. If you would like to chat a
question instead of using your microphone, click on the Chat (C) tool on the bottom tool
bar, then in the chat box, type in your question.

8. Several options are giving when viewing; Gallery View, Full Screen, Exit Full Screen and Speaker View
Gallery View – shows all the participants windows
a. Option to switch to Speaker View b. Option to switch to Full Screen
Full Screen Mode expands the window to show only the meeting. Click top right corn
button to Exit Full Screen
Speaker View highlights the video of the person speaking and minimizes the other
participant thumbnails on the top of the screen. Click Gallery View on the top right corner
to switch modes.
9. Leave Meeting, once the conference has ended.
Best practices for participants:
a. Test audio/video equipment before the meeting
b. Keep your microphone muted until you present to avoid any audio issues
c. View the conference in a quiet room to provide quality audio when speaking
d. Have a stable internet connection
