Minutes KAAMCO Cargo Operations Committee

September 26, 2013

Joseph Pesce, Chairman of the KAAMCO Operations Committee, opened the meeting, which was held at the

Port Authority JFK Bldg 14, at 1O.OOam and made the following comments:

• Chair Persons & Team Leaders were introduced.

• Meeting minutes, valuable information to the cargo community and links to the government agencies may

be found on the KAAMCO Cargo's web site at either w.itkcargo.nl;[ or www.jfkcargo.org.

Joel Ditkowsky from the JFK Brokers and Freight Forwarders Association:

• Judy Carney of Network brokers is the current President of the JFK Customs Brokers & freight

forwarders Association.

• A complete contact list of the association's officers & board of directors has been provided.

• The next association meeting is Wednesday October 16~1 at Russo's on the Bay

• If Airlines or Handling Companies want to institute new policies we would appreciate if you could bring it

to the attention of the organization and we will discuss it with you and make our recommendations, before

implementation.

Bob Redes Cargo Chief from the CBP:

• JFK's Port Director: Susan Mitchell is now posted in Washington D. C. as Acting Assistant

Commissioner.

• The Acting JFK Port Director is Diane Sabatino, till the end of December 2013

• The CBP advises that there is no impact expected due to the furloughs.

Ed Kenny supervisor for the TSA:

• Nothing to report

FAA Hazmat:

• Not in attendance due to training

Port Authority Police Department:

• Nothing to report

John Thompson from Fish & Wildlife:

• Effective October 7~1, you may upload specific commodities without documents_ Please check our website.

• Samples are ok via JFK due to the cooperation between airlines, ground handling companies, agencies and

Mike Bednarz from the Port Authority:

• Provided a quick update of 53' trailer initiative status.

• The NYCEDC, the Mayor's office and Peter Debeningno are involved

• Stewart Airport has a drop station initiative For more information contact Mike's Office.

Don Rivas from the Port Authority and Liaison Team Leader for KAAMCO Cargo:

• The ARK project is still possible but they are being delayed by the fmancial process. The future of the

Vetport is unknown. Sheryl from the CDC USDA requested communication of alternatives in case ofthe

Vetport closing and the concern for the well being of live animals.

• The Truck Stop is 2 to 3 weeks from opening.

• The Sunoco & Seven eleven are approximately two weeks from opening. After that the ribbon ceremony

will take place.

• The BP station will remain open until on, or about October 31 st.

Steve Brocchini Security Manager for the Port Anthority:

• The annual FOD walk will take place on October 16lb on the Bay runway at lO:OOam

• The new Port ill applications are taking longer to process. The matter is being reviewed.

David Hopkins from the NYCEDC:

• The 53' trailer issue will be the subject of a city hall briefing.

Bob Caton Outgoing President for the Chamber of Commerce:

• The golf outing of September 29<h, the JFK SO/50 was very successful and well attended.

• Special thanks to Clorinda Antonucci for organizing. Joe Clabby for Security; Rndy Auslander for

coordination and many others for their help and support.

• Tom Kelliher will be the new chamber president effective September 30 th•

Joe Clabby from Corporate Prevention and Security Team Leader for KAAMCO Cargo:

• A working group has been formed and will meet with the TSA in early October. The purpose is to conduct

a "barometer check" on field opinions.

• A small mix of carners, gha and security providers will attend.

Wally Luber from KLM and V.S.P.S. Team Leader for Kaamco Cargo:

• The USPS plans a sit down with the Port Authority for the use of annex 197 from week 46 fuu week I of

2014.

• Jerry Mengouchian has retired. Jnlie Lo has been named interim air transportation manager.

• 12 supervisory staffhas been cut... we are toJd.

• U.S. Military Mail (to / from bah) has shifted from ORD to JFK.
