JOBSITE EQUIPMENT (Máquinas en el area de trabajo): Crane Operations: Rigging (Operaciones de grúas: Aparejo) Crane operators must be trained and certified in accordance with OSHA regulations. Materials must be rigged by a qualified rigger. A qualified rigger/signaler must know and understand the types of rigging and signals used. Report any safety concerns to a Crane Operator, Qualified Rigger or Supervisor. The Qualified Rigger(s) will be identified to all workers involved in crane operations. The Qualified Rigger will: Select rigging method and equipment by sizing up the load: • How much does it weigh (to determine appropriate rigging equipment)? • Where is its center of gravity? • Where are the best attachment points or sling location points? • Are there sharp corners that need to be protected? Inspect rigging equipment prior to each use, looking for: • Abnormal wear • Torn or cut fibers • Discoloration or deterioration • Any variation or irregularity of size of fiber or strands Replace any equipment that does not pass inspection. Properly store all rigging equipment at the end of each shift according to manufacturers’ recommendations. Look for power lines and other electrical hazards overhead. Ensure the swing path is clear and no workers are below the load as it is being lifted. Use a tagline to guide load to its destination. La seguridad es responsabilidad de todos.
