JOB TITLE: Plasterer L - 1 LEVEL: 1

JOB DESCRIPTION: A plasterer of this level prepares required surfaces to receive plaster, prepares various mortar as per instructions, performs patch plaster/pointing works/infill plaster and applies plaster to interior, exterior walls and ceilings of buildings/engineering structures to produce finished surfaces.

3 LIST OF TASK:

1. Erecting and dismantling ladder, staging and simple scaffolding. 2. Repairing holes, chases and sleeves.

3. Preparing surfaces for plaster/pointing works.

4. Preparing mortar for plaster work as per instructions.

5. Performing patch plaster /pointing/infill work in existing structure.

6. Performing plaster works.

TASK PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS Instruction: Verbal instructions. Tools and Equipments: Measuring tape, ruler, tri – square, marking pencil or chalk, chalk line, masons string, water level, spirit level, plumb bob,

chisel, club hammer, mallet, claw hammer, back saw, shovel, spade, pick, rammer, spanner, screw, screwdriver, wheel barrow and crow – bar.

Materials: Base plate, bamboo, timber joists, plank, rope, wedge, hook, step ladder or multipurpose ladder, nails.

TASK PERFORMANCE STANDARDS

• Required materials, appropriate tools and equipments selected and/or collected. • Precautionary measures applied such as covering unnecessary elements/ accessories etc.

• Stock measured, marked and cut as instructed. • Holes in wall for putlogs made to modular size, in line and level.

• Ladder assembled firmly and safely providing convenient step and uniform riser within ±30 mm in each step using standard size of rope and

standard knots and/or clamps, erected and positioned at right place and secured from sliding. Scaffolding assembled, erected and positioned firmly &safely as per instructions.

• Ladder/stages and scaffolds or rope hoist dismantled in right sequence and stored in safe place.

the surface approximately 15 mm deep to provide bond for plastering/pointing work.

9. Make cement slurry and grout/coat the surface uniformly where

necessary.

10. Clean and water the surface thoroughly without saturating the surface.

11. Determine mortar ratio as per instructions, batch ingredients of

mortar as per ratio and mix ingredients thoroughly to uniform color and consistency.

12. Apply plaster in order with dash/hawk and trowel method uniformly.

13. Strike off excess plaster by drawing the straight edge backwards and

forwards across the plastered surface complying the surface thickness with the guide (screed) without leaving any protruding surface before plaster set.

14 Fill all hollows or holes after striking off excess plaster and

finish/smooth the plastered and surface with a float/straight edge, complying the surface with guide without any cracks, patches and undulating surface within plumb +-3mm per 3m height, level + 3mm per 3m length. Dismantle stages, ladders and/or scaffolding sequencely and store in safe place
