Occupational Job Skills Discovery Worksheet Using O*Net

Follow the steps below to find occupational skills you have used in your career.

1.Go to the O*Net website: www.onetonline.org

2.Locate the Occupational Quick Search field. Type in one of your occupations, then click on the arrow or type the Enter key.

3.What you see displayed is a list of occupations that match your occupation search.Click on the title of the occupation that most closely matches the job you performed.In this example, Manufacturing Production Technician is the closest match.

4.The Summary Report for the chosen occupation displays. This report is six pages in length and tells facts about the job that were observed and submitted by job profilers.

Focus on the job title, job description, and the Tasks sections on the first page.
