It’s true that it is important to ask questions in an interview, but make sure you’re asking the right kind of questions. There are some topics that require you to proceed with caution.

Why?
A ‘why’ question can come across as a little bit rude in an interview. Try rephrasing it to sound less confrontational.

Avoid any question that Google could give you a quick answer to. Don’t make it look like you didn’t do your research about the company before showing up for the interview.

Anything to do with work-life balance. As important as a work-life balance is, an interview is not the place to discuss the topic. Focus on the task at hand – getting the job. Any details about your work hours and conditions can be worked out if you’re offered the job.

Don’t miss out on the job by asking the wrong questions, you only get one shot at it.
