About us: The Essentials

JM World is a Nigerian organization established in 2010. Its products include an array of multimedia based services. Legally registered as Jericho Media in Nigeria, this organization exists in its home economy as a player in the private sector, particularly in the sphere of media, publicity and advertising.

Utilising cutting edge technology in today’s digital world, this organisation has since inception undertaken several projects in the past and present that stretch its scope and increase the competence of its staff so as to meet the ever increasing needs of global markets.

Clients range from individuals and small business owners to retail chains of supermarkets across the state of Lagos, Nigeria where it is situated.

This organisation has begun expanding its market operations within and across its home continent - Africa to several regions of the world, hoping to deliver enduring levels of excellence in offered services to clients every time and more importantly, forging lasting relationships with customers across the globe that are mutually beneficial always.

Our services cut across an array of different media but are grouped loosely under the following headings;

Graphic Design1. Design for PrintThis includes the creation and development of computer aided graphics prepared for the purpose of printing on any material. This aspect covers journals, magazines, books, fliers, labels, nylons and so on. Attention is closely paid to the quality of delivered work for print to ensure colours are legible and rightly placed. Great care is also given to the file format of the delivered work to aid compatibility across various computer programs and systems.

2. Design for Web This covers computer designed graphics made for the purpose of internet based tasks such as website and web page layouts, web adverts, emails containing graphic elements, online file sharing and so on. Of key importance here is the portability of the file(s) and resolution.

3. Design for Display – Real time or VirtualThis covers signage and display elements in general. Real time display covers large signposts, billboard adverts, outdoor signage and so on while virtual display governs computer desktop pictures, images for tagging to audio files, display pictures for social media, screensavers and so on.

Illustrations This area deals with expressing concepts and ideas (usually clients’) in images and visual forms that may utilise text or object elements or both. Musings, cartoons, ideologies, presentations and so on feature chiefly within this belt. Of noteworthy mention is the use of animations in this area.

Animation: This is the movement of objects and various elements across a plane within a given time frame. Simply put, it is the automated movement of objects from one point to another on a frame within a period of time. Various forms of animations include; flash videos, moving pictures, slideshows and so on. Methods of accomplishing good illustrations include the use of vector and raster graphics design and formats.

Film & Video

This deals entirely with editing, refining, designing, compressing (if necessary) and optimising for display, raw camera footage. Raw files from a video camera device are sent through a process of editing and redesigning using video editing software to make it more attractive for viewing, sharing and so on. This service is applied to cases where clients desire documentaries, feature films, trailers, movies and commercials.

Logos & Emblems

This currently being the most used service, logos & emblems cover the creation, design and editing of individual, group and corporate logos, emblems, seals etc. Great care is taken to note clients’ ideas, preferences and message to the public so that the eventual logo or emblem adequately reflects these elements. Because logos are used in various media (such as print, web, video, mobile, signage), file formats become extremely crucial.

Because they are expected to be used for long periods as official insignia, clients’ are given plenty room to draw up concepts for themselves if they have any and submit them for vetting and implementation. Clients’ may also desire further modification of these after they have already been created. This poses no problem at all as clients’ satisfaction in every area is crucial

Audio Production

This covers the creation, editing, designing and grouping of sound based files for playback or file sharing purposes. Under this heading, jingles for radio, voiceovers for narratives, instrumentals and tunes for music as well as for any other sound application are developed. Audio effects (FX), noise removal, file compression and conversion are techniques utilised in this area. Clients may send in raw audio files or request that such files be created for them. Studio based equipment in studio based environments are hardware tools used for operations like this. Again, clients’ ideas, concepts and inputs are crucial to developing meaningful products that meet their needs and please them.

This service is applicable to: radio commercials or announcements, music, sound graphics, audio effects, voiceovers, voice samples and demos.

3D: Three Dimensions

This is grouped into three chief areas;

Modelling: expressing arts, ideas or concepts in three dimensional image forms. This is the stage where ‘flesh’ is given to the thought.

Rendering: applying photorealistic elements to models. This covers shading, textures and lighting. 3D models are made to appear like real life objects by the use of certain techniques.

Animation: Moving 3D objects across or within different points within a scene. This is done and completed within a specifi-cally designated or given time.

It is responsible for the interactive videos and animations seen on websites, presentations and so on. It is widely revered as an industry cornerstone.

Adobe Premiere ProVideo EditingThis software collects, corrects, adds to and modifies raw video files, improving their appearance and viewability. With several features, it is greatly regarded as key to this aspect of the industry.

Adobe InDesignDesktop Publishing This software creates documents for use in print and web based applications. It combines the essentials of a word processor, image editor and graphics design applications. It is very key in the outlay of magazines, books, journals etc.

It is a workable tool with good applications in television, architecture, gaming and so on. The extensive use of plugins in the area of rendering limits its use in this aspect.

Adobe IllustratorVector Graphics EditorThis software creates, designs, edits, scales and exports computer graphics and digital arts to a variety of file formats. Its principle of vector based design makes it easy to overcome resolution problems when dealing with pixel based images. It is an industry benchmark.

Anime Studio2D Animation & Vector Design Popular in the category of cartoons. Anime Studio gives good edge in the area of 2 dimensional modeling and animation. Its ability to work with lip synching software to make images speak establishes it a key tool in cartoon development

Visionary and founder of the organisation, Taiwo Salisu received training as a Pharmacist at the University of Lagos but obtained several other competencies such as digital arts and design, audio production, copywriting, business analysis and development amongst many others. He is a graduate member of the Nigerian Institute of Management and student of ACCA (Association of Chartered and Certified Accountants) UK.

His passion for creative arts emanated early on in high school where he often drew and designed comic books with coloured pencils and ink pen. He also made pin-up drawings and mild paintings during this time.

As business proprietor, he is personally responsible for seeking clients, obtaining and meeting their needs as well as determining suitable approaches to ensure continuous patronage from them. The organisation under his watch has begun taking measured strides to export its services to global markets whilst consolidating on existing customers in the local markets.

His core values are diligence, honesty and loyalty. These consequently inform the culture of business within the organisa-tion as clients (prospective and existing) are dealt with as such.His hobbies include; reading, learning about people and places, travelling and watching movies.

Oluyemisi FaladeLegal Counsel

Principal adviser and organisational expert especially in Corporate Governance, she is a practising lawyer li-censed with the Nigerian Bar Association. She is a graduate of the University of Ibadan. Called to the Nigerian Bar in November 2012, she has served in various capacities of legal practice across law firms in the state. Some of these firms include Aelex, G.Elias & Co. and O.Kayode & Co. She is a certified ISO auditor and an enthusiast of macroeconomics.

As legal counsel to the organisation, she directly oversees intellectual property rights and protection of products. From her experience of the global landscape in this area, she infuses a great deal of proficiency and foresight especially in this area to the organisation. Her legal career has seen her at several leading industry symposia such as International Trademark Attorneys’ (INTA) conferences, Section on Business Law (SBL) of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) amongst many others.

Her hobbies include reading, travelling, cooking and singing.

Oluyemisi has been with the organisation since inception primarily as a consultant.
