INTERNET WEEK

The department of Computer Science

conducted “Internet Week” for all III degree

students from 13.08.12 to 18.08.12, only

afternoon sessions in student computer

center.

There are five sessions, total students

are divided into five batches. 30 students are

in each batch. The classes are conducted by

the converned members: Ms.Kalpana,

Mr.J.V.S.Satyanarayana, Sr. Amul Mary,

Ms.D.S.L. Vasavi Aparna, Mr.P.Murali

faculty of computer science. The following

topics are covered. Introduction to internet,

importance of Internet, mail-id creation,

sending and receiving e-mail, Registration

for jobs.

OBJECTIVE TYPE TEST OF IT

SKILLS


conducted an objective type test on “IT

Skills” for III B.Sc(MPComp, MEC, MCS)

& III B.Com computer students on

17.09.2012.

There were 30 objective type

questions given to each student based on

fundamentals, C, DBMS and Operating

Systems. Each question carries 1 mark and

the allotted time is 30 minutes.

WORD SEARCHING CONTEST


condected a “Word Searching Contest”

for I Degree students on 19.11.2012. There

were 20 words given to each student related

to computer subject. The student should

have found the word in the given table.

COMPUTER PAINTING

COMPETITION


conducted a “Computer Painting

Competition” for all the Degree students on

14.12.2012 in Student Computer Centre.

The painting theme is any festival and it was

given to the student’s wish

Time duration is 30 minutes. The paintings

were selected according to all the themes

covered in the painting about the festival. 30

students were participated and out of them 3

members were selected.

OBJETIVE TYPE TEST ON

PROGRAMMING SKILLS


conducted an objective type test on

“Programming Skills” for II B.Sc(MPComp,

MCS) & II B.Com Computer students on

10.01.2013.

There were 30 objective type

questions given to each student based on

Programming in ‘C’. Each question carries 1

mark and the allotted time is 30 minutes.

The 30 questions are come from their

syllabus which was studied from their

previous classes. They answered the

multiple choice questions which are in

objective type.

II BSc MCS,MPComp,BCom comp in mini

auditorium. Time duration for test was 30

minutes. Each question carries one mark.

The winners were awarded.

3. Sales Mela: Department of computer

science conducted sales mela on 20.12.13 in

the college campus. Commerce and

computer science departments together

choose some students and sold some items

like fancy, snack items. Then they obtained

3000/- as profit.

4.Inspire program:

Innovation in Science Pursuit for Inspired

Research (INSPIRE) Internship science

camp was conducted by the department of

Zoology from 6.01.2014 to 10.01.2014

sponsored by Department of Science and

Technology (DST). 150 students who

secured above 9.1GPA in X

class from 10 different colleges.

They are devided into 4 batches.Each

batch having practical sessions every day

afternoon.

system, Ms-Word, Power Point, trouble

shooting of CPU in student computer

center and given practice to students.

MCS,MPComp,BCom comp in Mini

auditorium. Time duration for test was 30

minutes. Each question carries one mark.

The winners were awarded.

5. Internet Week: Internet week was

conducted for all I Degree students in

student computer center from 12.02.14 to

15.02.14. All I degree are divided into 3

groups, each group contains 50 members.

Computer faculty explained about e-mail id

creation, browsing, searching, mails

checking, e-registration etc..

for all degree students in seminar

computing, Virtual Labs, Digital

library. Resource person is

Mrs.A.Lavanya, ALC College,

Vijayawada. The best

presentations awarded by cash prizes

and mementoes.

4. Test on Programming Skills:

Department of computer science

conducted programming skills

test on 26.09.2014 at 11:30 A.M

in the mini auditorium for all II

degree students. Test was

conducted on ‘C’ programming

modules, it was purely objective

type. There are 30 questions. The

students who got highest marks

were awarded.




5. School Activity: Department of

school activity on the

S.K.V.C.M.Z.P.H School,

Garuvupalem on 01-11-2014. In

this activity Ms.J.Suvarna

Kalpana, Lecturer in Computer

S.cience went to the school with

five students of III B.Sc (Comp)

and took classes for 8th

class students.

7. Solidarity day: On the occasion

of solidarity day department of

computer science and commerce

together sold snack items, badam

milk, tea, fruit salad and

Zilebi.so, We got 4500.00 as

profit and we gave that money to

management.

world lab for all degree students.

The topic is favorite festival.

11. Extension activity: Department

of Computer Science conducted

extension activity i.e visiting

Sabari Oldage Home,

Chenchupet.We went to Sabari

Oldage Home on 02.02.15 at

3.00 p.m with five II Bsc

computer students . Students

sang some devotional songs in

that place, and we distributed

orange fruits to them who are

living in the oldage home.They

felt so happy and they share

some views with us.

Department of Computer Science conducted

Essay Writing Competition on the account of

International Yoga day on 20.06.2015 at mini

auditorium. Winners were given prizes in the

after noon session of the program.

Lecturer in Computer Science, KBN College,

Vijayawada.

3. Industrial Visit to OK Graphics Department of Computer Science conducted

Visiting to O.K. Graphics Computer Center,

Tenali on 09.07.2015 at 2.00 PM for all III B.Sc

(Comp) and III B.Com(Comp) students to know

about flexy designing and printing

procedure.The Flexy Design Printing Machine

Operator explained about the printing

mechanism, color and software used for

printing. Sr. Amul Mary and J. Suvarna Kalpana

are the staff incharge for the students.

4. Earn While You Learn

Department of Computer Science has been

conducting Color Photo Printing under Earn

While You Learn with the help of II B.Sc

Computer Students. Still we have earned Rs.

3000/- in this Academic Year 2015-16.

Yadlapalli on 31.08.2015. Students taught

Fundamentals of Computers, Fundamentals of

Internet, and MS-Word. And also we conducted

and Tea. We gained profit 5200/- rupees at

JMJ College Campus on 28.11.2015 at

1. Feeding the Poor

Depatment of Computer Science has been

went to Gandhi Ashramam at Tenali on

08.07.2016 and donated them Rs. 1500 for

the feeding purpose. The 2016 year was

anounced as “Year of Mercy” by the Pop

Francis. So feeding the poor is under the

year of mercy.

2. Candle Light Freedom March


“Run for Freedom” on account of “AZAADI

70” “Independence 70” from 9th to 23

rd

August, 2016 declared by the Government

on 10.08.2016 at 7 P.M. It was started at

College gate and students with staff run to

the Ranaranga Chowk and selected statues.

Then at College campus we had a candle

light freedom March from Auditorium to the

Bharatha Matha Statue.

to support Internet and against Internet.

Department of Computer Science celebrated

“National Education Day” on 11.11.2016 at

3.00 pm for all degree students at New

Seminar Hall. On this account Dr. K.

Ramchand garu, Principal of ASN Degree

College, Tenali gave a talk on importance of

the Day. He ecourraged students to lead a

value life.
