Akay is an independent company, since June 2007, belonging to the A&P Group based in Dubai, UAE
Akay manufactures paprika and spice oleoresins, natural essential oils, and natural colors for the global food industry
Akay has 160 employees primarily situated in Pathanamthitta, Kerala
Akay has a worldwide presence with own warehouses / sales offices in USA, Europe, China and Japan.
The company has got IS0 9001:2008 certificates for its quality
OBJECTIVES OF THE STUDY
It helps to understand actual functioning of the Akay Flavours and Aromatics Pvt Ltd.
To understand the functioning of each department. To realize strength, weakness, opportunities and
threats of the organization. To understand the organizational structure. The future scope of the organization. To understand the theory with practical. To interact with highly qualified managers and

The company can introduce of new branches all over the world
Product diversification is possible. Very few companies in the field.India is the largest producers in spices.
THREATSIncreasing competition. Increasing price of raw materials. High manufacturing cost. The taste of customer is changing.Rules and financial policies in the exporting
countries. Unpredictable strikes and new taxation
policies.
FINDINGS
The Company continuously strives to meet the expectations of the customers.
The company has 4th place in manufacturing Oleoresins and Essential Oils in India.
Co-operation between management and employees are visible.
The safety guidelines are not following strictly by the employees .
The Company is still modernized in many areas. Rising production cost because of increasing
expenditure.
Unscientific pricing strategies.Customer service should be strengthened. No
customer service numbers is there. Welfare activities of Akay are noticed very
innovative. The environment friendly activities are
recommendable. The company has not faced any strike for past few
years.Quality Assurance Performance makes the product
process more valuableInefficient supply chain mechanism.
SUGGESTIONS The company should follow fair pricing. Make the employees to follow the safety
measures strictlyTry to cut down the manufacturing cost by
reducing expenditures Only experienced adult male workers at
danger machines.Provide awareness about the product to the
general public it will increase the sales of the company.
Reduce the number of intermediaries in the distribution channel to make the supply chain more efficient and effective.
Proper training should be given to the employees in maintenance department and periodic coaching should be provided to all employees as it helps in tactfully handle the risks.
Introduce latest technologies in the entire mechanisms.
Introduce innovative products according to the trend and changing preferences of the customers
Provide job opportunities for women also.
CONCLUSION Akay Flavours and Aromatics Pvt.Ltd is the best example in the
state for the best entrepreneurship and enjoy a good market presence and reputation.

The study was done to analyse the practical aspects of business management in the modern business scenario and also to study the various functions of department in the organization.
