Jilin International Studies University
为培养合格的汉语教师,促进汉语国际推广和中国文化传播,孔子
学院总部/国家汉办(以下简称汉办)设立孔子学院奖学金,委托孔子
学院、独立设置的孔子课堂、海外部分汉语考试考点(以下简称推荐机
构)推荐优秀学生和在职汉语教师到中国大学(以下简称接收院校)学
习。
For the purpose of cultivating qualified Chinese language
teachers and facilitating the promotion of Chinese language
and culture, the Confucius Institute Headquarters (Hanban)
launches “Confucius Institute Scholarship” (CIS) to support
outstanding students, scholars and currently employed Chinese
language teachers recommended by Confucius Institutes,
independently operated Confucius Classrooms as well as some
HSK test centers (hereinafter to be collectively referred to
as “recommending institutions”) to study in Chinese
universities and colleges (hereinafter referred to as “host
institutions”).
1.非中国籍人士。
2.身心健康,品学兼优。
3.有志于从事汉语教育、教学及汉语国际推广相关工作。
4.年龄为16-35周岁(统一以2018年9月1日计)。在职汉语教
师放宽至45周岁,本科奖学金申请者一般不超过25周岁。
All applicants shall be
(a)Non-Chinese citizens
(b)In good Physical and mental condition, well
performed both academically and behaviorally
(c)Aspired to take future careers on the teaching or
international promotion of Chinese language.
(d)Between the ages of 16-35 on September 1st, 2018.
Applicants currently worked as Chinese language teachers
shall not exceed the age limit of 45, while undergraduate
students shall not exceed the age limit of 25.
(一)汉语国际教育专业硕士
2019年9月入学,资助期限为2年。
具有大学本科学历。汉语考试成绩达到HSK(五级)210分、
HSKK(中级)60分。提供毕业后拟任教机构工作协议或相关证明者
优先。
(二)汉语国际教育本科
2019年9月入学,资助期限为4年。
具有高中学历。汉语考试成绩达到HSK(四级)210分、HSKK
(中级)60分
(三)一学年研修生
2019年9月入学,资助期限为11个月。不录取在华留学生。
1.汉语国际教育
汉语考试成绩达到HSK(三级)270分,具有HSKK成绩。
2.汉语言文学、中国历史、中国哲学
汉语考试成绩达到HSK(四级)180分、HSKK(中级)60分。
3.汉语研修
汉语考试成绩达到HSK(三级)210分。
l SCHOLARSHIP TYPES AND QUALIFICATIONS
A.Scholarship for Master’s Degree in Teaching Chinese to
Speakers of Other Languages (MTCSOL)
Commences September 2019 and provides scholarship for
maximum two academic years. Applicants shall be Bachelor
degree holders, and have a minimum score of 210 in HSK Test
(Level 5) as well as 60 in HSKK test (Intermediate Level).
Applicants who are able to provide notarized document of the
employment agreement or related proofs upon completing study
in China are preferred.
B.Scholarship for Bachelor’s Degree in Teaching Chinese
to Speakers of Other Languages (BTCSOL)
Commences September 2019 and provides scholarship for
maximum four academic years. Applicants must have graduated
with a high school diploma, , and have a minimum score of 210
in HSK Test (Level 4) as well as 60 in HSKK test
(Intermediate Level).
C. Scholarship for One-Academic-Year Study
Commences September 2019, and provides scholarship for
maximum 11 months. International students currently studying
in China are not eligible.
i.TCSOL
Applicants shall have a minimum score of 270 in HSK test
(Level 3), while HSKK test score required.
ii.Chinese Language and Literature, Chinese History, and
Chinese Philosophy
Applicants shall have a minimum score of 180 in HSK test
(Level 4) and 60 in HSKK test (intermediate level).
iii.Chinese Language Study
Applicants shall have a minimum score of 210 in HSK test
(Level 3 level).
(四)一学期研修生
2019年9月、2020年3月入学,资助期限为5个月。不录取护照上
有X1、X2签证者。
1.汉语国际教育、汉语言文学、中国历史、中国哲学

D. Scholarship for One-Semester Study
Students should enroll in September 2019 or in March
2020. This scholarship provides a sponsorship for 5 months.
People with X1 and X2 visa on passport are not eligible for
this scholarship.
1.Scholarship in Chinese International Education,
Chinese Language and Literature, Chinese History, and
Chinese Philosophy
Applicants should have a minimum score of 180 in HSK
Test (Level 3) and a HSKK test score .
2. Scholarship in Traditional Chinese Medicine and Tai
Chi Culture
Applicants should have a score in HSKK Test .
(五)四周研修生
2019年7月或12月入学,资助期限为4周。不录取护照上有X1、
X2签证者。
1.中医、太极文化
具有HSK成绩。
2.汉语言+中国家庭体验
具有HSK成绩。由孔子学院组团进行报名,并事先联系接收
院校确定在华学习计划,提前报总部审批,每团10-15人。
3.孔子学院专项四周生
具有HSK成绩。由孔子学院组团进行报名,每团10-15人。
E.Four-Week Scholarship
Commences either on July or December of 2019, and
provides a four-week scholarship. Applicants withholding
visas X1 or X2 are not eligible.
i.Traditional Chinese Medicine and Taiji Culture
HSK test score are required.
ii.Chinese Language plus home-stay Experience in a
Chinese Family
HSK test score are required. Organized and applied by a
Confucius Institute with 10-15 participants per group.
Prior to the trip, a detailed study plan shall be made
after consultation with host institutions and submit to
Hanban for approval.
iii. Special Four-week Program for Confucius Institutes
HSK test score are required. Organized and applied by a
Confucius Institute with 10-15 participants per group.
2019年3月1日起,申请者可登录孔子学院奖学金网站
(cis.chinese.cn)申请孔子学院奖学金。
登录孔子学院奖学金网站,查询推荐机构与接收院校;在线
提交申请材料,关注申请进程、审核意见与奖学金评审结果;奖
学金获得者与接收院校确认办理来华留学手续,在线打印获奖证
书;按接收院校录取通知书规定的时间入学报到。
申请截止日期为:
1.4月20日(7月入学)
2.5月20日(9月入学)
3.9月20日(12月入学)
4.12月20日(2020年3月入学)
汉办集中评审,择优资助,于入学前2个月完成奖学金评审
工作,公布评审结果。
Online registration will be available from March 1,
2018 on the Confucius Institute Scholarship website
(cis.chinese.cn). Please log on to search recommending
institutions and host institutions, upload application
materials online, track the application progress, feedback
of review and admission results. Scholarship holders need
to confirm with the host institutions to go through the
procedures of studying in China, print out CIS certificate
online, and register at host institutions at the designated
date and time as per the letter of admission.
The application deadlines are
(a)April 20th (for those commencing in July)
(b)May 20th (for those commencing in September)
(c)September 20th (for those commencing in December)
(d)December 20th (for those commencing in March 2019)
Hanban will complete the scholarship review and notify
the results two months before enrollment of the admitted
students.

Chinese Bridge winners who have been awarded the 2019

host institutions upon presentation of their CIS certificates.

附录1
孔子学院奖学金资助内容及标准
孔子学院奖学金资助内容包括:学费、住宿费、生活费(四周研
修生除外)和综合医疗保险费。
1.学费由接收院校统筹用于奖学金生的培养与管理,开展文化活
动,组织参加汉语考试。学费不包含教材费和旅游景点门票。
2.住宿费由接收院校统筹使用,为学生提供免费宿舍,一般为双
人间;经奖学金生申请、接收院校批准,选择校外住宿者,由学校按
月或季度发放住宿费,标准为700元人民币/月。
3.生活费由接收院校按月发放。本科生、一学年和一学期研修生
标准为2500元人民币/月;汉语国际教育专业硕士生为3000元人民币/
月。
奖学金生按接收院校录取通知书规定的时间入学报到,否则取消
奖学金资格。当月15日(含15日)前到校注册者,当月发放全额生活
费;15日以后注册者,当月发放半月生活费。
奖学金生在学期间(不含寒暑假)因个人原因离开中国时间超过
15天者,停发离华期间生活费。
奖学金生因个人原因休学、退学或受接收院校纪律处分者,停发
自休学、退学或接到处分通知之日起的生活费。
毕(结)业生的生活费发放至学校确定的毕(结)业日期后的半
个月。
4.综合医疗保险费参照中国教育部来华留学有关规定执行,由接
收院校统一购买。四周研修生标准为160元人民币/人,一学期研修生为
400元人民币/人,一学年以上标准为800元人民币/年/人。
Appendix 1
Confucius Institute Scholarship Coverage and Criteria
The Confucius Institute Scholarship provides full coverage
on tuition fee, accommodation fee, living allowance (four-week
study students are excluded) and comprehensive medical
insurance expenses.
a)Tuition fee is under the overall planning and
utilization of host institutions to provide teaching and
management of scholarship students organizing cultural and
social activities, as well as organizing Chinese language
proficiency tests. Tuition fee does not cover the textbook
expenses and tourist tickets.
b)Accommodation fee is under the overall planning and
utilization of host institutions to provide students with in-
campus apartments (usually double rooms). Students may also
live off-campus upon application and getting permission from
the host institutions. Students who live off-campus are
entitled to accommodation allowance of 700 CNY per
person/month paid on a monthly / quarterly basis from the host
institutions.
c)Living allowance is granted by host institutions on a
monthly basis. The monthly allowance for undergraduates, one-
academic-year study students and one-semester students is
2,500 CNY per person. For MTCSOL student, the monthly
allowance is 3,000 CNY per person.
Students are required to complete enrollment procedures
for every semester within stipulated period; otherwise, their
scholarship may be cancelled. Students who are enrolled
before the 15th (or on the 15th) of the month are entitled to
the full allowance of that month while those enrolled after
the 15th of that month are only entitled to half of the
amount.
During the study period, for any student who is absent
from China due to personal reasons for more than 15 days
(excluding winter and summer holidays), the allowance during
absence will be suspended.
For students who suspend study or drop out of school for
personal reasons, or who are given disciplinary punishment by
the host institutions, allowance will be terminated on the
date of such suspension, dropping out or when the decision of
such punishment is announced.
The living allowance for the month of graduation will be
granted half a month after the date of graduation or
expiration day of the study confirmed by host institutions.
Comprehensive medical insurance is purchased by the host
institutions in accordance with relevant regulations of
studying in China stipulated by the Ministry of Education of
China. Insurance fee per person is 160 CNY for four-week
study students, 400 CNY for one-semester students, and 800
CNY per year for students engaged in program longer than one
academic year.

一、与所有申请者有关的证明材料
1.护照照片页扫描件。

4.提供最高学历证明(毕业预期证明)和在校学习成绩单。

四、未满18周岁的申请者,须提交在华监护人署名的委托证明

Profile of Jilin International Studies University
Jilin International Studies University was founded in
1995. Over the past 20 years, with the strong support of
Party committees, governments and all sectors of society at
all levels, the university has been developing rapidly and
has achieved remarkable results. It has made many
accomplishments in being the first and only in China. The
University was approved by the Ministry of Education as a
private teaching organization to offer four-year
undergraduate programs in 2003 and obtained the authorization
to confer bachelor's degrees and began to run joint master's
degree programs in 2005. In 2007 JISU became the first and
only private university in China at the provincial key
university level. In 2010, it became the only university for
a pilot study on the national reform of education system
"Exploring Non-profit Private Education in China". In 2011,
approved by the Academic Degree Committee of the State
Council, JISU was among the first batch of private colleges
and universities to offer graduate professional degree
programs. In 2015, it became the first Chinese private
university to set up Confucius Institute in the United States.
In 2016, it was the only private university in China selected
as the "National Basic Capacity Building Project for
Universities in Central and Western China" and in 2017 it
became the only private university in China as a qualified
teaching institution to offer programs to overseas students
on "the Chinese Government Scholarship". In the same year,
it successfully passed the examination and evaluation of the
Ministry of Education, and was approved by Jilin Academic
Degree Committee to plan for and set up a doctoral program.
In 2018, it was approved by the Academic Degree Committee of
the State Council as the first private university in China
to award master's degree and with the approval of the
Ministry of Education; and in the same year it was renamed
as Jilin International Studies University, which is the
first among private universities in China.
JISU currently houses over 10,000 students, including
full-time undergraduates, postgraduates and overseas
students. There are over 800 staff members, including 50
foreign teachers. JISU boasts 12 teaching units, namely
School of Translation and Interpreting, School of English,
School of Oriental Languages, School of Western Languages,
School of Central-Eastern European Languages, School of
International Economics and Trade, School of International
Business Administration, School of Chinese Language and
Literature, School of Education, School of International
Exchanges, School of General Education, School of Marxism,
offering classes in 13 foreign languages (i.e. English,
Japanese, German, French, Korean, Russian, Spanish, Italian,
Portuguese, Arabic, Mongolian, Indonesian, and Persian). There
are 34 undergraduate majors of five disciplinary areas, Chinese,
Economics, Management, Education and Art. There are 5
authorized units to confer master degrees, namely Translation,
Education, Chinese International Education, International
Business, and Accounting and one Accreditation Point for
Master's Degrees in First-Class Disciplines—Pedagogy, covering
20 professional fields in which MTI covers nine languages,
including English, Japanese, Russian, Korean, German, French,
Western, Arabic and Italian.
The University actively promotes internationalization, and
has been cooperating with 120 universities and educational
institutions in 20 countries and regions. JISU launched a joint
education program through the Confucius Institute with the New
Jersey City University. The University also cooperates with the
University of Applied Languages in Munich, Germany to implement
joint education in German. The University has obtained
admission qualifications to enroll international students on
the Chinese Government Scholarship, Jilin Province Government
JForeign Student Scholarship, and Confucius Institute
Scholarship. Each year, more than 800 students are sent
abroad. At present, the University receives about 300
international students each year. More than 80 long-term
and short-term foreign experts and teachers teach in JISU,
including Marie-Josée de Saint Robert at the United
Nations Headquarters in Geneva, Ivan Djoken Dzomo,
President of the United States Federation of UNESCO,
Professor Hannelore Lee-Jahnke, Honorary President of the
CIUTI, and Professor Martin Forstner, Secretary-General of
CIUTI, etc. More than 30 Chinese and foreign ambassadors
have come to the school to give lectures. The school has
joined the strategic alliance of the "Belt and Road"
Initiative, and has established the "Belt and Road"
Cultural and Language Collaboration and Innovation Center.
JISU has successfully held large-scale international
conferences such as the Asia-Europe Education Forum and the
Presidents' Forum of Chinese and Foreign Universities. Each
year, the International Culture and Art Festival is held to
train foreign language talents with global vision and
intercultural communicative competence.
