In partnership with Jewish Museum Milwaukee and Crux Creative, Bluewater Studio designed and produced a new traveling exhibit:

“Blacklist: The Hollywood Red Scare.”

The Blacklist exhibit examines the abuse of First Amendment protections under the guise of protecting Americans from Communist threat. Those who were implicated suffered serious personal consequences. Drawing on original film clips and documents, ephemera and dramatic congressional testimony by some of Hollywood’s most noted figures, this exhibit shows how rights were ignored and the motion picture business self-censored its offerings to the public. Explore the unclear and even contradictory handling of this highly politicized and polarizing time in our history.
