Validation Procedures• After the MC RelVals for new version of CMSSW are

released and posted on HN.• We pick up the jet datasets like QCD and TTbar to be

run on our validation module.• We compare the histograms between new version

and previous version.• If no discrepancy is indicated, we report this version

pass.• If discrepancy is indicated, we ask the experts what

causes this discrepancy.• The validation result can be found at

http://highenergy.phys.ttu.edu/~keng/validation

Status and Update• Status of moving to central DQM

- Jet validation module was tested with DQM sequence.

• Update new features - Reduced the bin size and remove unnecessary

plots.

• In this release: Had energy missing in fullsim and changing in fastsim

• Improper HO status in DB, which prevents HO from being properly used in MC CaloTowers (fix already submitted to the next pre-release GloblTag).

• This is the JEC closure improvement. The new JEC is applied.

JetMET Data validationWe currently look at DQM plots created centrally and posted on DQM GUI

• This validation using RelVal_run2010B dataset (previous valskim) for this validation• We do this validation for every new CMSSW version after MC RelVal validation

• Jet Validation is moving smoothly.• We have the JEC checked in DQM.• Waiting for the new global tags for 42X and

above with the proper JEC.• The new tag for validation module will be

submitted to CVS.
