The conceptual strategy for the Sizzonne advertising offices is to create an environment that is sublime, visionary and harmonious in nature, augmenting the creative processes that take place within.
Sublime is seen as a complete and inspiring moment where a sequence of confusion coincides to one moment of conclusion. This is represented by the centralized staircase, which links the free, often chaotic production spaces to the final presentation rooms. A harmonious environment is reflected throughout the space, with soft curves and open floor plan to encourage interaction and greater creative productivity. A visionary approach is felt throughout, with access to new technologies at every turn.
Through these three creative themes, Sissonne symbolizes the creative potential of design, offering itself as wel-come environment of new ideas and ambitions.

ritzville project: fields of dreams
As wind flows through the hills of wheat, dreams also flow through the history of Ritzville, which links its people to the land. For the Natives, dreams connected them closely to the earth. Later, European settlers had great hopes to have their own piece of land, grow wheat, and prosper. The land is a foundational element that supports the cycles of life inspired by dreams. Today, the cycle of growing wheat keeps Ritzville citizens connected to the soil. To reenergize this foundational land, a new seed must be planted so new dreams can grow.

The statuesque structure of South Side National Bank sits as an icon, embodying the tenets of the Art Deco period -a philosophy of futuristic approaches and technological advancements. Using this concept as an inspiration for the space will exemplify the modern age approach to Art Deco design. The intervention preserves the ideology of the Art Deco movement: An embrace of contemporary technology-based programs compensates for the destruction of the building’s original physical state. This will be rendered through a futuristic technology-based concept, showcased in the design. The proposal acts as a centralized hub for new ideas. A Technology Café also acts as a space for classes, boasting an extensive electronic library database acces-sible to all economic demographics. Sustainability will be showcased through purchasing locally grown foods and products along with materials that are used within the existing structure. Using a modern approach to the Art Deco style promotes a futuristic concept through sustainability, technology, and community.

Interactive art is designed to allow observers create their own interpretation of the installation presented. It was our goal to create a timeline out of a recycled material expressing the series of a design student’s education. The recycled component chosen materializes as 2,000 recycled water bottles, which was recycled back after the instal-lation was over. The progression of water bottles initiated four series of installations representing the four years of design education. First the forms seem unclear and scattered. By the end, however, they form a structure that is comfortable to walk through.
The installation was installed on Washington State University’s campus, capturing the sun shining through the clear bottles, and drawing observers to walk through and experience their own journey of a design student’s education.

Situated in the Capital Hill District of Seattle, Melrose Square symbolizes the importance of adaptive reuse within a city scape. Inspired by the multitude of bridges within Seattle, the concept of compression and release is used throughout the floor plan to create intimate and open spaces.
Adapted from a garage to a teahouse, pilates studio, and residential loft, Melrose Square encompasses the needs of the neighbourhood by promoting a healthy and meditative lifestyle. The idea of compression and release is used throughout the space by the varying levels of box shapes, housing the formal tearooms. Sustainable features include multiple light wells throughout the space to reduce energy consumption.
