* 11 years of guardianship experience for mentally disabled sister.* Successfully stopped a collection agency from taking advantage of my disabled

sister financially on a false utility bill with semco energy that never existed in her name. In fact, Semco Energy could not even produce any record of my sister receiving their services. I submitted written notification that payment will be denied as there was no record of services. I cited the anti-garnishment provisions of Sec. 207 42 U.S.C. 407 (a) of the federal social security act to the bill collectors should they choose to proceed to a court to pursue a claim. As a result, All calls stopped and no further correspondence occurred.

* Successfully protected my sister’s financial interest's against a landlord who attempted to bill her $1,500 for alleged damages. However, the landlord failed to submit a damages notice within the 30 day time frame allowed by Michigan law. The landlord was advised in writing that he exceeded his 30 days and the landlord was 1 day late submitting his damage notice. I denied payment pursuant to his violation of 554.610 Sec 10 of the Michigan Landlord and Tenant Relationships Act of 1972. My sister and I decided not to pursue a claim for the $485.00 that was legally supposed to be returned to her. As a result, We heard no further communication or correspondence from the landlord.

* Appeared before Judge Allen Garbrecht in the Calhoun County 37th Circuit Court requesting a Personal Protection Order on behalf of my sister for domestic violence against her previous abusive boyfriend. My sister attempted to have the personal protection order terminated. As legal guardian for my sister, I filed a motion to deny the termination of the personal protection order against her former boyfriend. My motion was upheld and the PPO was affirmed for 1 year.

*Assisted a college student who was facing a garnishment on a default auto loan. However, the plaintiff was unaware they illegally garnished student loan proceeds from his savings account. Therefore, I researched the federal statue regarding attachments to student loans. The plaintiff did in fact violate federal law Title 20 U.S.C 1095(a) Section D states "Notwithstanding any other provision of federal law or state law. No grant, loan, or work assistance awarded under this subchapter and part C of subchapter 1 of chapter 34 of title 42 or property traceable to such assistance shall be subject to garnishment or attachment in order to satisfy a debt by the student awarded such assistance.”

* I began assisting with the paper work to recover illegal garnishment of federal student loans in excess of $3,000 by filing a Motion to Set Aside the Judgement in the case by attaching copies of the college financial account records and the federal student aid award letters. On the day of the court hearing, The plaintiff’s attorney immediately conceded to Jackson County 12th District Court Judge that his law firm violated federal law and they agreed to return more than $3,000 of student loan proceeds. Two weeks following the court hearing, A check was received in excess of $3,000.
