Project Overview The Jervis Pump Station helps to safely move wastewater from the City of Vancouver to the Iona Island Wastewater Treatment Plant. Construction will begin in 2019 and will involve adding a back-up power supply to the existing pump station to provide a reliable supply during power outages. Construction will take approximately eight months and will require the existing building at Sunset Beach Park to be expanded. Metro Vancouver is working closely with Vancouver Park Board staff to ensure that design of the new and old building is well integrated into the surroundings. The design will enhance the experience of visitors at this location while preserving the natural beauty of the park. An increased amount of seating facing the water will allow a greater number of park users to stop and enjoy the view. This spring, there will be a number of opportunities for the public to provide feedback on the proposed building design and on ways Metro Vancouver can minimize construction impacts.
