We have had another very busy year.We began the New Year on the Isle ofMan as part of our 6 week overseas tour. What a trip. All six of us got to experienceBangkok, Paris, London, New York,Orlando, San Antonio and Vancouver.Along the way we caught up with preciousfriends and family in Chambery, Norfolk,Isle of Man, Texas and in Victoria,Canada. Our photos are loaded onFacebook for those into social media.Amazing experiences and sights, toomany to list here but it was a very specialfamily time for us. Memories to treasurealways.

As soon as we got back it was straight intolife with work, school, sports and moresports. Cricket, triathlon and athletics gotthe year underway. All three boys havehad successful years in cricket with themplaying in representative teams regularlyand performing well. The NZ schooltriathlon champs were held in Gisbornewith a scary surf swim, we were proud ofall four of them for competing and nishingunlike many others. Braden and Tyler didwell in athletics but cross-country is theirthing. Braden won school cross-countryfor the 9 th year in a row and Tyler placedsecond in his. Marcia won the WaikatoBOP cross country and 3000m on the

track. Both Marcia and Tyler competed inthe New Zealand cross country champsalso. Marcia was an inspiration as captainof her netball team, she just missed out onthe NZ Schools team and made the localrep team and performed very well at theSchools champs. Carron was very busy asthe coach of Marcia s school team, it waschallenging but lots of fun. Cycling wasagain a big part of the winter with Tylerand Cam making their top teams, both

improved during the year and ended upwith trophies at the prizegiving. Richardwas a struggling coach again with thenewbies. Braden had a great year athockey, a sport his parents are beginningto understand, and he looks to have someskills moving forward to high school. Allfour kids competed in the Duathlonchamps in Taupo and did very well.

The big trip at the start of the year meantthat we had very few holidays this year butwe did manage a family trip to Wellingtonto catch up with Kristen/Dave/Rose/Josh.While the girls went shopping and visitedthe Wearable Arts show, the boys decidedto try zip-lining. Then we visited Dave/ Gina/Ava/Jessica in Taranaki for a fewdays. We have begun some majorrenovations at Waihi Beach andunfortunately go into this summer withouta garage or sleepout but next year therewill be a new two bedrooms, bathroomand playroom space for the kids and theirmates to disappear into.

We were lucky enough to have visits fromoverseas travellers. Firstly Sandy & Hfrom the Isle of Man visited in February,we had a lovely few days sightseeingaround Auckland, including a jetboat ridein the harbour. Then later in the year

Chloe visited from Norfolk and we werelucky to have her in New Zealand foralmost three weeks. We did lots ofsightseeing and thrill seeking during hertime here, including a walk around the SkyTower platform, which is only 192m off theground!!

Braden turned 13 in July so began theperiod with 4 teenagers in the house! Sofar the parents are coping okay with this.Marcia also reached a special milestone

turning 18 in October. Seems like only afew short years that she was runningaround at kindergarten. Time sure hasown.

Marcia has nished her high school yearsand is leaving the nest next year to startuniversity life studying sports science andnutrition at Otago University in Dunedin. It ll be strange not having her around asmuch but we re sure the calls will stillcome in for parental assistance. Our 14years of involvement with Conifer Grove

School is over too as Braden moves off tohigh school. It has been a fantastic placefor all 4 kids to get their early schoolingand we will miss it. All three boys will be atthe same school next year which shouldreduce our mileage and Braden will bewell protected by his older brothers.

We have had some sadness this year withthe loss of Carron s cousin Mark inNorwich. We are so pleased we got tostay with him over Christmas 2013 and willmiss his beaming smile. We also lostRichard s Uncle David, another man with abeaming smile and quick wit. To replicatehis wine cellar is one of our lifetime goals. And not forgetting the loss of our beloveddog, Queso, after 11 years of foodstealing, chasing joggers and generaldisobedience. They all leave a hole that islling with happy memories.

We did decide to add another pet to thefamily and in late December Luna a lilac/ caramel Burmese kitten became part ofthe family. She is adorable but absolutelycrazy so is tting in well. We are hopingshe will learn to sleep better as we feellike there is a new very noisy baby in thehouse who wakes us around 2am eachday!
