The Jeppesen PRIMAR ECDIS Service is composed of official ENCs, supplemented with high-quality vector charts produced by Jeppesen Marine when ENC coverage is not available. The product includes extensive coverage of ENCs from national hydrographic offices. This ensures easy access to world-wide coverage of the most authoritative chart data available. The Jeppesen PRIMAR ECDIS Service is authorized and complies with all official regulations and requirements related to distribution and usage of official ENCs. An approved ECDIS com-bined with ENCs from Jeppesen PRIMAR ECDIS Service makes paperless navigation possible according to flag state approval. It is important to note that vector charts from Jeppesen Marine should only be used as a navigational aid, and does not replace the need for paper charts.

The Jeppesen’s SENC format

This product is distributed in Jeppesen’s SENC format. SENC distribution makes the chart data available and secure in a format ready to be used on the ECDIS, and is supported by the majority of ECDIS brands on the market. The main benefit of the Jeppesen’s format is that installation and updating is achieved in a fraction of time compared to our competitors.

The data is distributed in Jeppesen’s SENC format. The technology developed for the distribution of authorised navigational chart data has been type approved by DNV.

The Jeppesen-PRIMAR ECDIS Service is distributed on DVD. The latest updated chart data-base can be received on a weekly basis.

Jeppesen Norway is an authorised distributor of offi cial ENC, Electronic Navigational Charts from Hydrographic Offi ces. The Jeppesen PRIMAR ECDIS Service comprises offi cial ENCs supplemented with vector chart data produced by Jeppesen when ENC is not available, and provides for full digital chart coverage.

LICENSING

The subscribers can choose the license period based on his service and routes. The options are 3, 6 or 12 months. Ordering is based on a chart-by-chart level where you only pay for the charts which are needed.

The Jeppesen PRIMAR ECDIS Service is continuously updated by implementing new charts, new editions of charts and updates that are issued by the national hydrographic offices.

Depending on the necessity, technical outfit and communication capacity, subscribers can choose different options to keep their onboard database updated.

Licensing

The easy and flexible licensing system ensures that the portfolio can be restricted to a minimum coverage and is tailored to meet the individual end-user needs, thus reducing costs. The subscriber can choose between 2 different licensing methods:

• The C-MAP Chart Catalog allows you to plan and order electronic charts in an interactive way. Orders can be electronically tailored to your specific needs, and the ordered license codes can then be sent by e-mail to activate the charts.

• The C-MAP Dynamic Licensing service is a user-friendly and cost-effective method for licens-ing electronic charts. The service ensures immediate access to chart licenses whenever they are needed, by panning and zooming on the screen or by navigating the vessel into a new area.
