You will also findenclosed the offic ial pardon document. Please note that the records of the federaldepartments and agencies will be kept separate and apart from other rim inl records.NPB wishes to provide you with a synopsis of the CRA regarding the effect of a pardon,the custody of the record, and the circumstances under which the pardon may be revokedor cease to exist. pardon is evidence of the fact that a convictions should no longer reflect adversely onthat persons character, and removes any disqualification to which the individul issubjected This signifies the intent of Parliament that a person, to whom a pardon hasbeen awarded under the CRA should no longer be made to suffer any legal disabilitiesor penalties imposed as a result of a conviction However a pardon does not erase thefact that an individual was convicted of an offences and has a riminl record, or affectany prohibition order imposed under the Crim inal Code of CanadaOnce a pardon is awarded, the records of a pardoned offences in the custody of federalagencies are kept separate and apart, and information pertaining to such records will notbe disclosed without the specific approval of the Minister of Public Safety. The pardon was granted on the basis that you metthe legal criteria, including good conduct in the community.The Board reviewed correspondence received on May 24, 2013 from the RoyalCanadian Mounted Police, Federal Policing Criminal Operations Division in Ottawa. t isnoted on Apr il 22, 2013, you, along wi th a co-accused, were arrested and charged forconspiring to carry out a terrorist attack against a Via Rail p ssenger train.
