COuSIN: JaPaNESE POP SENSaTIONS COME TO KOBaYaSHI Hall

The Japanese pop duo カズン(Cousin) is made up of Izumi Koga and Hiroshi Urushido (real cousins)! Cousin debuted in 1995. Their third single, ‘Fuyu no Fantasy’ (“Winter Fantasy”) was chosen for a beer commercial and the single sold 700,000 copies in Japan In the UN’s International Year of theVolunteer (2001), their song ‘Himawari’ (“Sunflower”) waschosen as a volunteer campaign song, and after that they started to appear in many charity concerts and volunteer events. Their song ‘Boku ga Kimi kara Karita Mono’ (“What I Borrowed from You”) was written for the 60th anniversary of the bombing of Hiroshima, and was recorded with a children’s chorus from the city. The duo has released 8 albums and 13 singles during their phenomenal career. To that list of accomplishment they can now add“firstpopperformerstoplaytheKobayashiHall”.Wehopetosee you here!

“PEaCE’S NEW CENTurY” PrOJECT & WOrKSHOP

Co-presented by the Japanese Canadian Cultural Centre and Gendai Gallery

“Peace’s New Century” Project is a computer collage collabora-tion between San Francisco-based painter Betsie Miller-Kusz and Hiroshima-based photographer and contemporary artist Masaru Tanaka. Betsie’s father, then a physics graduate student, was assigned to work on the Manhattan Project in 1945. Masaru’s father was an atomic bomb survivor in Hiroshima. After Betsie and Masaru met, the artists felt a responsibility to work together on a creative col-laboration of peace because of their fathers’ personal experiences of the war. They called their project “Peace’s New Century” to show how peace can be created through art, transcending differences in the present to overcome the terrible history of the past. Since 1999, their project and children’s workshop have been presented at conferences, exhibits and concerts around the world. For the Gendai Gallery, the exhibition of Betsie and Masaru’s photographic and painting collaborations will open with a reception on the evening of Thursday May 10, following the Cousin in Con-cert pop music show in JCCC’s Kobayashi Hall. On the afternoon of May 12, the artists will host an art workshop inviting children to collaborate on creating images of peace with origami paper. The outcome of the workshop will also be displayed in the Gendai Gal-lery for the run of the exhibition. The Story of an Incredible Japanese American links Hiroshima, 9/11, Art, Family, Homelessness and Cats!

TheJCCCisproudtopresentaveryspecialfilmwhichhasbeencalled, “an irresistible fable of reconciliation and forgiveness” and “a fascinating story of injustice and endurance” by critics. “Make art not war” is Jimmy Mirikitani’s motto. This 85-year-old Japanese American artist was born in Sacramento and raised in Hiroshima, but by 2001 he is living on the streets of New York with the twin towers of the World Trade Center still ominously anchoring the horizon behind him. What begins as a simple portrait of one homeless man will become a rare docu-ment of daily life in New York in the months leading up to 9/11. How deeply these two stories will be intertwined cannot yet be imagined. This is the story of losing “home” on many levels. How did Mirikitani end up on the streets? The answer is in his art. As tourists and shoppers hurry past, he sits alone on a windy corner in Soho drawing whimsical cats, bleak internment camps, andtheangryredflamesof theatomicbomb.Whenaneigh-boringfilmmakerstopstoaskaboutMirikitani’sart,afriendshipbegins that will change both their lives. In sunshine, rain, and snow, she returns again and again to document his drawings, trying to decipher the stories behind them. The tales spill out in a jumble -- childhood picnics in Hiroshima, ancient samurai an-cestors, lost American citizenship, Jackson Pollock, Pearl Har-bor, thousands of Americans imprisoned in WWII desert camps, a boy who loved cats... As winter warms to spring and summer, she begins to piece together the puzzle of Mirikitani’s past. HErITaGE lOuNGE SPEaKEr SErIESWITH Mr. DavID PEPPEr

Wednesday May 30, 2007 7:00pm to 9:00 pmHeritage lounge Born and educated in Windsor, Ontario, Mr. Pepper is a profes-sional artist and sculptor with extensive background in design and preparation of museum ex-hibits. After graduating from the Ontario College of art in 1966, he worked as an artist/craftsman for eleven years at the Royal Ontario Museum in Toronto and also re-searched the museum’s exten-sive Japanese arms and armor collection. From 1977, Mr. Pepper has been a freelance exhibit artist

and has worked on a number of Japanese exhibitions in Canada and the United States as a guest curator, museum liaison, and de-signer. From his student days in the 1960’s until he returned to his hometown in 1989, he was an active member and volunteer at the J.C.C.C., and is a past member of the Board. In the past two years he has begun the long process of cataloguing the large and impor-tant collection of artifacts owned by the Centre, sponsored by the Heritage Committee. In Windsor he has his own business, Okame Japanese An-tiques, dealing in artifacts from Japan and Asia. He has traveled extensively in Japan and is familiar with the Japanese language. Since working on the original installation of The Faithful Samurai (A travelling exhibition of prints and artifacts related to the 47 Ronin) in October 2003, he has guest curated ‘Samurai: The Warrior Class of Japan’ (Art Gallery of Windsor and Museum London, Ontario); Hanga: Japanese Woodblock Prints (Art Gallery of Windsor); and Mingei: Japanese Folk Art (Anthropology Museum, University of Windsor). He has lectured on several aspects of Japanese art and culture, including the samurai and their swords, traditional cos-tume, woodblock prints, antiques, gardens, and Japanese garden plants. Please join us to listen to the fascinating life of a man who has devoted his entire life to the study and preservation of Japanese antiques and who has helped all Canadians to appreciate the time-less history, culture and arts of Japan.

KaMP KODOMO SuMMEr SESSIONSMark your calendars and don’t miss out on the all the summer fun at the JCCC!!! Kamp Kodomo’s 2007 summer session is ready tostart registration. Joinus forabusyweekfilledwithsessionscovering a wide range of activities including martial arts, ikebana, origami, folklore, language, manga art and so much more! The camp operates from 9:00am to 4:30pm from Monday to Friday. There will be three sessions offered: July 9 – 13, July 16 – 20, and July 23 – 27. Fees for this program are $180 per child for a 5-day session. A 10 % discount will be applied for JCCC members and additional children from the same family will receive a 5% discount. Extended camp care is available from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00am and from 4:30pm to 6:00pm with an additional cost of $35 per session. Camp fees cover all materials, two nutritious snacks per day, and a special activity each week. Campers are required to bring a lunch and drink. NOSTalGIa NIGHT 2007The JCCC Heritage Committee presents Nostalgia Night 2007 on Saturday July 7, 2007 in the Kobayashi Hall at the Japanese Canadian Cultural Centre. This year we will be recognizing the Dance Clubs of the 1950’s to the 1990’s and the Women’s Auxiliary of the Japanese Canadian Cultural Centre. Japanese Canadians were scattered throughout the Toronto area during the post war period. Numerous dance clubs over the years were the venues where the Japanese Canadians were able to meet and socialize as well as learn social and ballroom dancing with other Nikkei’s in the Metro Toronto area. The Women’s Auxiliary of the Centre played a major role in the development of the Japanese Canadian Cultural Centre since they were responsible for preparing the food at the numerous fundraising functions and special occasions at the Centre. Come and reminisce about the old days, meet some of the former instructors, hear stories about how the ladies struggled in the past to prepare food. The evening will again feature the fabulous Japanese Canadian soul food cuisine with old time favorites as well as other goodies. Bring the whole family, friends, and relatives as we celebrate the history of the Japanese Canadian experience. The festivities are scheduled from 3:00pm to 8:00pm. Admission is $5 for members and $7 for non-members. Attendees who bring a recipe and a story related to the recipe for the JCCC Cook Book project will be admitted free. NaTSu MaTSurI aND OBON fESTIvalExciting Summer festivities within the Community

What do you get when you combine several community organizations, a beautiful location, hundreds of dancers and a sunny summer that fades in to a balmy evening? You get the Natsu Matsuri and Obon Festival at the JCCC. On Saturday July 14, 2007, the JCCC invites thousands of visitors to enjoy a lively festival atmosphere with games, great food and spectacular performances. The festival is a particularly special one because of the co-operative effort of the many community organizations involved in making the event a huge success. Weather permitting the event takes place outside in the parking lot or in the Kobayashi Hall. We look forward to the 5th year of this exciting JCCC and community tradition! NIKKEI HErITaGE rECIPES fOr THEJCCC HErITaGE COMMITTEE’S

“COOKBOOK PrOJECT”The JCCC Heritage Committee has initiated a new project referred to as “The Cookbook”. Why will this cookbook be different than other cookbooks? Our Goal: “To create an anthropological resource of Japanese Canadian cooking based on Community and Family Events using recipes, photographs and anecdotes.” “The Cookbook” will not be just a collection of recipes from our community. It will be a vehicle to share the Stories of our Community and the important role food played and continues to play in the development of the Japanese Canadian Community. OurFoodandRecipeshelpdefineusas individuals. Theyreflect the uniqueness of our Community and our History inCanada. Our Food and Events have been an important bridge to the rest of the Community. They allow us to share our culture and our story by providing the opportunity for others to experience, appreciate and understand us better. We want to capture your stories related to the food and recipes thatweresignificantinyourlife.Trytorememberthosefavoritedishes that gave comfort or that were the highlight of family or community gatherings. Think of picnics, or Oshogatsu (New Year’s) or other holiday gatherings where celebrations occurred. Try to remember the laughter or friendships gained and share your experiences related to these recipes. “The Cookbook” may be your opportunity to share these stories and to recognize that favorite relative or friend for that magical contribution. Food has also played an important role in the development of many Japanese and Japanese Canadian organizations including the JCCC. We hope to capture these stories too in order to recognize the volunteer spirit and culinary skills of individuals and groups and tell the stories of how they helped to build the community. KaMP KODOMO MarCH BrEaK WraP uP

Kamp Kodomo’s March Break session was a huge success. The 21 children who attended had a great week participating in a huge variety of activities. Included with the regular favorites, like judo, ikebana and origami (just to name a few), were new hands-on sessions on koto and cartooning. The children also had the opportunity to participate in the JCCC Heritage Committee’s Nikkei Kids Day, where they learned about the Asahi Baseball team, made yaki onigiri and played pachinko. The biggest disappointment was that we didn’t have enough time to do sessions on everything that the JCCC has to offer. Manyofthechildrenwerefirsttimeattendeesatthissession.While some children knew each other before attending, none left without making new friends. Most of these children are already

making plans to return for the summer sessions. Special thanks are extended to the volunteers and staff who worked together to make Kamp Kodomo March Break 2007 a huge success with both the parents and the children.

by JC 3 Pitch Baseball LeagueThe Japanese Canadian 3-Pitch Baseball League will begin it’s 21st season of play at the end of May and we are looking to recruit Players and Sponsors. Ournon-profitLeague, founded in1987, isCo-ed,witheachteam comprised of up to 4 Women and 10 Men, between the ages of 18 and 60 and skill levels from beginner to intermediate. The prime directive of the League has always been to provide a social, yet competitive environment for persons or families of Japanese Ancestry to participate and integrate together, to meet others sharing similar culture, heritage and interests, to have fun and to make friends. The League plays Sunday (excluding long weekends) mornings (9:30am-12:00pm) at Huntsmill Park, in the Warden Avenue & McNicoll Avenue area of Scarborough from Mid-May to the end of August. We host several BBQ’s during the season and provide a subsidized banquet in September. Each team pitches to their own players (players hit every inning) in a slow pitch/lob ball format with each player receiving 3 (men) or 4 (women) pitches.

Wrong!OrsoclaimsomeCaliforniafilmhistorians,whosayitwas Sessue Hayakawa, the Japan-born actor who smooched and swayed his way into the hearts of American women when he wasalsoasilentfilmstarintheearlypartofthe20thcentury. Most film-goers remember Hayakawa as the stern campcommander, who lost a battle of wits with the British leader, Alec Guiness,intheoscar-winningfilm,theBridgeontheRiverKwai.That became the high point of Hayakawa”s career, because after the heartthrob period in the early part of his career, he virtually disappeared from the American screen. Why that happened is the central issue discussed in a new importantdocumentarytitled“TheSlantedScreen”,afilmdirectedby Japanese American producer, Jeff Adachi, a lawyer in Los Angeles. ThisfilmisbeingshownonSaturday June 23, 2007 starting at 1:00pm at the JCCC. It will be followed by a special panel made up of Asian Canadian actors and writers, who will discuss and examine the lack of opportunity in the industry. Japanese Canadian actor, Dennis Akiyama, will be among the featured speakers on the panel. The film showing is being sponsored by Nikkei Voice inconjunction with the Reel Asian Film Festival and the Heritage Committee of the JCCC. Admission is free. Refreshments will be served. ThecentralthesisofthefilmisthatAsianshavejoinedHayakawain obscurity over the 80 odd years of the Hollywood dream machine. Highlights have usually been in the few blockbusters where all-Asian casting was an obvious need, such as the Flower Drum Song and Tora, Tora, Tora. Even Caucasians were made up to act as Asian characters, such as Mickey Rooney, who played the toothy, heavily-accented tenant to Audrey Hepnburn in Breakfast at Tiffanys, and Sydney Greenstreet, who was also done up to play the popular Chinese-American detective, Charlie Chan. Carey Hiroyuki Tagawa gave up a juicy role as part of Don Johnson’s police team, because he felt he was getting a raw deal by having to play errand boy in the detective drama. This lack of recognition and opportunity in the American movieindustry had its casualties. James Shigeta, a tall, handsome Japanese-American actor in the 1950s and 1960s, said he was once told: “If you were white, you could’ve been a superstar.” Adachi interviewed dozens of Asian American actors and they claim the main reasons why leading men, like Hayakawa, have been denied key roles are racism and prejudice.

The evidence seems inescapable. Take Hollywood, for example, the centre of the movie-making, dream machine. That’s located in Southern California, the home for millions of Asians of all varieties, but youwon’t see thempopulating the films churnedout by themillionaire movie moguls. The same predicament seems to exist in Toronto, home of millions of Asians and other ethnic minorities. But you don’t see them popping on the movie sets or television productions around Toronto, the centre of the Canadian dream-machine. Why is that? It’s an intriguing question that’s been asked countless times since the 1970s, when vicious racism started rearing its ugly head, and suggestions were made to head off this problem. Better representation of minorities in the media was a key proposal, but that never developed much beyond the idea stage. The absence from the screens can probably be explained in one word --- exclusion. The Anglo-European dominated world of celluloid has never found it necessary to include Asians in their business because they claim they are not their market. Adachi explores this conundrum, using a series of clips withAsian actors, producers and directors. Their solution: more Asian writers and producers to get a stronger Asian presence.

2007 OBON TOur Of vaNCOuvEr ISlaNDby the BC Jodo Shinshu Buddhist Churches Federation

The BC Jodo Shinshu Buddhist Churches Federation’s annual trek to Vancouver Island to visit the gravesites of, and pay our respects to, our Japanese Canadian ancestors is to take place from August 10 - 12, 2007 and all are invited to join in this most enjoyable three-day outing by ferry and bus. Buddhists consider Obon as the most important service that they conduct in their temples and grave sites. Out-of-town family members comehometovisit,gravesitesarecleaned,floralarrangementsareplacedandaservice isconductedat thecemetery.AllofourShinBuddhist Temples across Canada observe this service. In the early 1900’s, many people of Japanese ancestry lived, worked, and died on Vancouver Island. With the start of World War II, all Japanese were evacuated from the Island. When the War ended, very few of these families returned to the Island, and thus there were no families of the deceased living on the Island to observe the service. Realizing this, in the 1950’s, the late Sensei Shinjo Ikuta took it upon himself each year to make the trip to the gravesites on the Island. The Vancouver Buddhist Temple took on the responsibility in the 1960s, and in 1982, the BC Buddhist Churches Federation made it their responsibility to make the pilgrimage to the Island. In 1983, the Vancouver Island Obon Tour was started, and has continued yearly except for two or three years when it was unfortunately cancelled due to lack of participants. This year, the tour will start in Vancouver by bus early in the morning of Friday, August 10 and catch the ferry at Horseshoe Bay to Nanaimo. During the tour, cemetery visitations will be made to the Duncan Cemetery, Chemainus Cemetery, Cumberland Cemetery and the Port Alberni cemetery. Visitations will not be made to the cemeteries in Nanaimo and Victoria as they now conduct their own Obon Services. Overnights will be in Nanaimo and Courtney. The tour is not just visiting cemeteries. We will visit the Totem Poles in Duncan, the famous murals in Chemainus, Cathedral Grove in MacMillan Provincial Park, Coombs Market with the goats on the roof, the Malls in the Shopping Mall Capital of Nanaimo, and even visit a Casino. The added attraction this year is an invitation to join Cumberland as they celebrate their 119th year of Celebrations. Residents will join us at the Cemetery, a group lunch will be at the Legion Hall, there will be a tour of the town and the sites where the Japanese camp sites were located, and a visit to their Museum. Dinner and evening celebrations will be at the Recreation Hall with the municipality of Cumberland. Cost per person for the three-day, two-night tour, including bus cost, ferry cost, accommodations, and lunch and dinner in Cumberland, is just $441. on a two-sharing basis. Single, three sharing, four sharing and children rates are also available. 桂三枝落語独演会と特別V.I.P.レセプション

来たる６月２１日（木）上方落語協会会長の桂三枝さんが日系文化会館で落語の公演を行います。　桂三枝さんは「新婚さんいらっしゃい」などの多くのテレビ番組の司会で有名ですが、近年は落語により力を注がれています。古典落語はせず、創作落語のみ。２００３年には「桂三枝の創作落語125撰ファイナル」の成果で文化庁芸術祭演芸部門の大賞をを受賞されています。三枝さんは関西大学の客員教授としても活躍され、お笑いの文化を広めています。２００６年には紫綬褒章も受章されました。　桂三枝さんは過去数年シカゴをはじめとするアメリカの各地で毎年落語の公演を行われてきました。今回はカナダまで足を伸ばし、初めてのカナダ公演です。トロント公演では、三枝さんの創作落語２作の他に、２名のお弟子さんが一席ずつご披露してくださいます。公演は日本語のみで、英語字幕は付きませんので、ご了承ください。　座席は指定のみです。（チケットの残りはわずかです。）落語公演の後は、ヘリテージルームにて桂三枝さんグループを囲んでの立食のレセプションが行われます。人数に限りがありますので、レセプションにご参加ご希望の方は、お早めにチケットをご購入ください。

「平和の新世紀」プロジェクトとワークショップ

「平和の新世紀」プロジェクトとはサンフランシスコを拠点に活躍する画家ベッツィー・ミラー・クッズさんと広島を拠点とする写真家および芸術家のタナカ・マサルさんのコンピューターによる共同コラージュです。　ベッツィーさんのお父様は１９４５年のマンハッタンプロジェクトに物理学専攻の大学院生として関わりました。一方、マサルさんのお父様は広島の原爆被爆者です。それぞれの父親の体験に影響され、何か平和に関する創作コラボをしたいと考えた二人がとりかかったプロジェクトが「平和の新世紀」です。さまざまな違いや過去の恐ろしい歴史などを超えて、芸術を通して平和はもたらされるということを表現しています。１９９９年以来、このプロジェクトは世界中で展示され、子供向けのワークショップも行われてきました。　現代ギャラリーでの展示は２００７年５月１０日（木）、カズンのコンサート終了後に公式オープンします。また５月１２日（土）には折り紙を使った子供用ワークショップが行われます。展示、ワークショップに関するお問い合わせは下記まで：

映画鑑賞会「ミリキタニの猫」２００７年５月２４日（木）午後７時からホームレスの日系アメリカ人芸術家を追ったドキュメンタリー映画「ミリキタニの猫」を上映します。　カリフォルニア生まれで広島育ちの日系人画家は、2001年にニューヨークで路上生活を送っていた。憤った様子で日系人強制収容所や原爆を描く彼はまた、猫も好んで絵の題材にした。作品に魅せられたフィルムメーカーが彼に話しかけたとき、二人に友情が芽生える。その出会いはお互いの人生を大きく変えることになった。9・11同時多発テロ直後の混乱の

さなか、猫と暮らすフィルムメーカーのもとにジミーが越してきて奇妙な共同生活が始まるのだった。　戦争と人種差別が生み出す傷の深さ、アートと友情がもたらす癒しを親密な視点から描いたドキュメンタリーです。入場料はＪＣＣＣ会員が６ドル、非会員は８ドルです。

日系カナダ人のおふくろの味ＪＣＣＣヘリテージ委員会では日系カナダ人の思い出の「味」を再現するレシピを募集しています。年中行事やピクニックなどで食べた懐かしい食べ物の数々。レシピだけでなく食べ物にまつわるエピソードなどでも結構です。ＪＣＣＣ受付またはcookbook@jccc.on.caまでお送り下さい。レシピは最終的にひとつの料理本にまとめられる予定です。　多くの方からのご応募をお待ちしています。

The JCCC FoundationBequests Helping to Secure JCCC’s Vision forTomorrow Few legal instruments are more important to people and causes contemplation than your Will. Through a bequest, you can also have a direct impact on the future of the JCCC’s cultural and heritage legacy that will live on for future generations. To make a gift to the JCCC Foundation from your estate, you must draft a new Will or add a codicil to your present Will. A bequest may be large or small, restricted or unrestricted. It may include cash, securities, real estate, other property, or a percentage of the resi-due of your estate. To ensure that your wishes are honoured, a bequest should be prepared in consultation with your lawyer and discussed with the JCCC Foundation.

Advantages of Bequests • A bequest allows you to make a substantial gift in the future without diminishing your assets today. In other words, it costs nothing now, yet it may give you a great deal of satisfaction to know that your gift will live on.

• Your estate will receive a valuable tax credit for your final tax return. The credit may be applied to up to 100% of your net income in the year of death and the preceding year. This credit may save your estate a considerable amount of tax, particularly if you have RSPs or large holdings of appreciated assets that will be deemed to have been sold at your death. Additional tax sav-ings may be achieved through specific bequests of appreciated listed securities and mutual funds. Working with your financial advisors, we can help you maximize the tax benefits from your gift planning. • Bequests are flexible. You may make a bequest anonymous-ly, and you have the flexibility to change it at any time. • With bequests of $25,000 or more, you may create a named, endowed fund that will support JCCC Foundation forever.

Things to Consider When Making a BequestWhat type and amount of bequest do you want to make? • You can make a general bequest of a specified amount of money.

• You can choose a residual bequest, which gives all or a per-centage of the remaining estate after all debts, taxes and other bequests have been paid.

• You may choose to make a specific bequest, ensuring that the JCCC Foundation receives a specific piece of property, such as a collection of books or a financial asset.

• A contingent bequest comes into effect when you designate the Centre as a second beneficiary. If the first beneficiary you have named is not able to receive the gift, it is then directed to the second beneficiary.

Do you want your bequest to be unrestricted or restricted? An unrestricted gift provides the JCCC with flexibility to use be-quests where they are needed most. However, some donors have personal philanthropic interests they wish to support through their gifts. For example, donors may specify that a particular area or room be the recipient of their bequests, or that the gift be directed toward specific cultural programming, such as heritage, martial arts, dance or visual arts.

Do you want your bequest to be endowed or expendable? If a bequest is $25,000 or more, the donor may choose to estab-lish an endowed fund. Endowed funds provide income every year in perpetuity to carry out the wishes of the donor. Endowed funds may also be named to honour the donor or a loved one. If you decide you want your bequest to be expendable, both the principal and any income are spent for the designated purpose.

Do you want to be recognized or remain anonymous for your bequest?Many donors choose to become recognized for their bequest. This is our way of recognizing you and encouraging others to consider a similar type of gift. Bequest amounts are not disclosed. Of course, any request for anonymity is strictly honored.

Establishing a Bequest A bequest is a simple but powerful way to make a gift to the JCCC Foundation. If you haven’t already done so, please consider put-ting the JCCC Foundation in your will. The JCCC Foundation would be pleased to work with you and/or your lawyer to help you establish a bequest, including providing sample language tailored to your specific interests.

遺贈の利点• 遺贈は今現在貴方がお持ちの財産を維持し、将来的に大きな贈物と成り得る可能性を秘めています。現時点では一切費用がかからず、それでいて贈物、遺贈品の将来的な価値を見出すができ、大きな満足感が得られるといえます。

• 最終確定申告で貴方の財産は多大な税控除を受けることが出来ます。控除は没年とその前年の純所得の１００％まで申請可能です。この控除は、財産の中ではRSPや含み益のある資産をお持ちの場合に死亡時の売却を想定すると、多額の節税につながります。含み益のある上場されている証券や投資信託は、遺贈を明確にすることで追加的節税になります。私共は貴方の贈与計画が税制上の最優遇処置を受けられるよう、貴方の財政アドバイザーと連携し協力致します。

• 遺贈はフレキシブルです。匿名でも出来ますし、何時でも変更できるという柔軟性があります。

• 遺贈額が２万５千ドル以上の場合、JCCC財団法人を永久に支援する寄付基金を設立することが出来ます。

遺贈作成で考慮する点

遺贈額と種類• 一定金額の遺贈

• 残余遺贈。債務、税金、その他の遺贈等全ての支払い後に残った財産の遺贈。

• 特定遺贈。例えばJCCC財団法人が、書籍コレクションや金融資産といった特定所有物を受贈すると約束した場合の遺贈。

JCCC財団法人• 会館を２番目の受遺者と指名した場合に起こる偶発的遺贈。これは一番目の受遺者が何らかの理由で受け取れない場合に二番目の受遺者に遺贈されることを示します。

特定遺贈特定遺贈は必要性の高い部分で使用出来るという点でJCCCにフレキシブルな選択肢を与えます。遺贈者によっては遺贈を通じて支援したい個人的な慈善事業の好みをお持ちです。その場合、遺贈者は特定分野や場所、ヘリテージ、武道、舞踊といった特定の文化事業プログラムを遺贈の受遺者として指定できます。

基金資本型遺贈、消費可能型遺贈基本資本型遺贈とは遺贈額が２万５千ドル以上の場合、遺贈者には、希望により永久に収益がある基金設置の選択肢が与えられます。基金は遺贈者や最愛の故人にちなんで命名することが出来ます。消費型の場合は、原金とそれに伴う収益は指定された目的に使われます。

匿名型、実名型多くの遺贈者は実名型を選びます。これは私共の感謝の意を表明し同様の遺贈を考えられている方々への奨励にもなります。遺贈額の公表はありません。匿名ご希望の場合は勿論それを尊重し厳守致します。
