The 1920s: 100 Years Later Thursday, February 13, 1PM In this panoramic view, media lecturer Don Parker will cover events ranging from the Teapot Dome scandal to the ratification of the 19th Amendment.

2020 Census

By Census Day, April 1, 2020, every home will receive an

invitation to participate in the 2020 Census. For the first time ever, the 2020 Census will conduct its count primarily

online, although the public is also able to participate by mail or phone. PPL’s public computers will be available for

Census filing by the public.

African Americans in Film: The Early Years Wednesday, February 12, 1PM Media lecturer Marilyn Carminio looks back at film legends and lesser known artists of color whose talent is a vital part of Hollywood’s legacy.

Casablanca: Lecture and Film Screening Wednesday, January 8, 1PM

Entertainment historian Larry Wolf presents

a behind-the-scenes lecture followed by a screening of Casablanca, the 1942 film classic. Set in

Casablanca in 1941 in the early stages of WWII and before America entered the conflict, Humphrey Bogart

and Ingrid Bergman play ill-fated lovers in one of Hollywood's greatest movies. Length of program: 3

hours, including screening and lecture. (Lecture: 60 min. Film: 102 min.)
