This is the year you are finally going to make plans to be healthier, spend more time with your family, start a fitness routine, eat better, register the kids for summer activities on time…. the list goes on and on.

Your “to do” list gets longer and longer and the time to do it all seems to get shorter and shorter. In the chaos of it all, it can be difficult to know which way to turn and to set priorities when so many things seem urgent.

The Y is here to help you with all of these things.

At the Y, we are committed to helping the people of Greenville County become healthier in spirit, mind, and body. If you are telling yourself this is the year you will get healthier, we can help! Every Y membership includes wellness coaching from a Wellness Works coach. This is one of the perks of Y membership at no additional cost!

These specially trained wellness coaches meet with you to determine your goals and get some baseline measurements. Then they will outline your personalized wellness plan. But that’s not the end! Your coach is charged with following up with you to measure your success and help keep you motivated.

In addition to state of the art fitness equipment on our wellness floors, every Y branch provides a diverse range of group exercise classes to make getting healthier a little more social. Always wanted to try yoga or pilates? You can! Love to dance? Dance your way to health in ZUMBA®. Need an extra challenge? Try Beast Mode, our high-intensity functional training class developed by certified CrossFit instructors. So make this year the year you partner with the Y to help you reach your goals.

The Y has plenty of things for the entire family to enjoy. Kids and their parents can bond over youth sports like soccer and baseball. Fathers and their sons and daughters can make memories that will last a lifetime as they build Pinewood Derby cars or take part in other activities with the Adventure Guides and Trailblazers. And Camp Greenville hosts family camp weekends all year long in its rustic, yet comfortable cabins.

The Y is proud to support Greenville County families in their pursuit of health, and we’re proud that because of the generosity of members and community partners, no family is turned away because of an inability to pay. If you are interested in a Y membership or program but it isn’t in your budget, ask about financial assistance at any Y customer service desk.

Yours in healthScot BaddleyPresident and CEOYMCA of Greenville

DATES: Jan. 20 - April 11DAYS: Monday, Wednesday, Friday TIMES: 8:30am - 1:00pm The R.E.C.E.S.S. (Recreation Exercise Community Education Social Service) program is designed to serve special needs adults by providing them opportunities to socialize with peers, and promoting healthy lifestyle habits through proper nutrition and exercise. It fosters community involvement and develops job, independent living, and self-advocacy skills. Anyone interested in this program must fill out an application for review. Transportation is provided from the Eastside Y to the Caine Halter Y.

oPen DoorSMembership and program fees pay for only the direct cost of services. We use additional financial support in order to make the Y available to all in our community, regardless of their financial situation. Children and families who cannot afford to pay full costs deserve the experiences the Y offers as much as those who can. It is through contributions from individuals and companies committed to this community and the values of the YMCA who make it possible for us to provide for scholarships to child care and after school care at our branches, the Judson Community Center, and the Sterling Hope Center. By supporting families in their efforts to be successful, our neighborhoods become safer, healthier, better places to live and work.
