Important Notice: Due to changes in staffing, the office will not be open in the mornings until 8:30 a.m. You may call and leave a message, email, or come in after 8:30 a.m. if you have school business to conduct. The office will close at 3:25 p.m. daily. Mrs. McAfee is available by appointment only. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and ask for your cooperation with this change in our office hours. We welcome Mrs. Charlene Muras who will be temporarily assisting Mrs. McAfee in the office on Mondays, Wednesday, and Fridays, and Ms. Belle Cardoza who will be assisting on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Administration is conducting an evaluation of the secretary position and will repost at a later date. Mrs. Ana Rubio has been hired as our school bookkeeper. Should you have any questions regarding your tuition, cafeteria, or ASP payments, please email Mrs. Rubio at [email protected]. Student Council News: The council met recently and voted to send a check to Houston Coalition for Life to support their efforts to provide care to expectant mothers who need ultrasounds and care. The organization uses the Blue Bus to travel to locations outside of the Houston area, like Victoria. They also provide counseling to those considering abortion. The council also voted on activities for Catholic Schools Week coming up January 26. ART After School: The spring semester will be starting soon. ARTS for Rural Texas has asked us to be sure we have students sign up for this opportunity. Space is available for students from grades 2 through 8. Even if your child attended the first semester, you must sign up again for the second semester at artsforruraltexas.org. Mass News: Tomorrow’s Mass will be led by our 6 th grade class. We will be looking for students and families to serve at the opening Mass for Catholic Schools Week, January 26 – a form to sign up to serve will be sent home soon. Save the Date: National Catholic Schools Week is celebrated Sunday, January 26 through Friday, January 31, at St. Michael Catholic School. Report Cards: Report cards were sent home yesterday. Please be sure to review these, sign, and return to the homeroom teacher by tomorrow (1/10/2020). Tuition and Fees: Cafeteria fees are due on the first day of school for each new month we are in school. January cafeteria fees were due Monday, January 6, 2020. If you were emailed a statement regarding cafeteria fees, your account is past due and needs to be paid at this time. Please include payment for January menu options with your late payment. Reminder to those who elected to pay tuition by cash twice per year: your spring payment is due in the office by January 18. HSA New s : Catholic Life Tickets: The last turn-in date for these tickets is Friday, January 24. We are still far from our goal of $20,000, so please continue to sell your tickets. Contact Amy Brandt at 979-732-7624 if you need additional tickets. These sales will go toward your spring selling points. Point System: Earning points for the fall ended Tuesday, January 7. Letters will be sent home on Thursday, January 16, to those families who did not earn all working and/or selling points.
