January 2012 Updates: School Holidays, Part 5
We arrived at the Breakfast Point country
club first early in the morning.
The girls helped enthusiastically to get ready – Hahgoot even helped to blow up the
floaties, which is a remarkable achievement for a child who is afraid
of balloons.
I bought a new swimming suit, so this time I could fully enjoy my time in the water with Alma, while Hahgoot was
independent and played with Maddie and Mikaela (top left).
A little later we were joined by our friend Maria and sleeping Alana.
We were surprised to find out all the girls had matching swimming suits!
Unfortunately, this swimming session didn’t end well: Mikaela decided to play a trick on Hahgoot and pushed her backwards into the pool. Despite the floaties Hahgoot went under for a second and
was utterly shocked for hours. This time it took me three days to balance her
back, many meltdowns and hours of discussions about what to do when accidents happen and
why it’s important to learn to swim.
Alma and Alana had a much more relaxed session in the water.
On the way out of the posh club Hahgoot had many meltdowns and kept
complaining about the cold (it was a much more windy day than last time, but
because of the shock to her system she became ultra sensitive to everything).
We spent an afternoon at Burwood, and started off with lunch at the sushi train restaurant with Bernadette, Mia and Sarah.
Alma had a fantastic time:
she ate everything she could put her hand on, learned
to peel soya beans herself, had a
caramel flavoured dessert and was ready for more!
Hahgoot and Mia had a great time too:
Left: tucking in their favourite fish eggs sushi
Right: enjoying rainbow coloured jelly
Bernadette and sweet Sarah Barak decided to celebrate with a nice dessert
After the lunch we enjoyed a play at the girls’ house, with lots of games and
dress ups
