If you really keep the royal law foundin Scripture, Love your neighbor asyourself, you are doing right. But if youshow favoritism, you sin and are con-victed by the law as lawbreakers.

My brothers, as believers in our gloriousLord Jesus Christ, don't show favoritism.Suppose a man comes into your meetingwearing a gold ring and fine clothes, and apoor man in shabby clothes also comesin. If you show special attention to theman wearing fine clothes and say, Here'sa good seat for you, but say to the poorman, You stand there or Sit on the floor

by my feet, have you not discriminatedamong yourselves and become judgeswith evil thoughts?

Brothers, we have an obligationbut it is not to the sinful nature, to live according to it. For if you live according tothe sinful nature, you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the misdeeds of the body, you will live, becausethose who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God. For you did not receive a spirit that makes you a slave againto fear, but you received the Spirit of sonship. And by him we cry, "Abba, Father." The Spirit himself testifies with ourspirit that we are God's children. Now if we are children, then we are heirsheirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, ifindeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory.

    Jesus Christalone canchange,reform,

    bring hope.

    Heis good

    andmerciful.

We are called to love people who havemade horrible, damaging choices. To lovethem, not because they are so loveable. Butto love them because they need to knowthat there is One who will love them onlybecause they are in such need.

2007 is finished. It has been a goodyear in many ways. You made it possible

for us to provide safety and shelter for 95men, women and children, on average,

each day.You made it possible for Marie to find

an opportunity to retain custody of her 2

precious children and to set a good exam-ple for her imprisoned husband.

You made it possible for Robert to liveout his final days with caring brothers. You made it possible for Jenny to cele-

brate a year of sobriety with a great job, along with her husband and daughters.

You made it possible for Tyrone to showhis academic prowess at Rogue Commu-nity College.

You also made it possible for many Jimsand Janes, Bills and Bettys to find hope

and purpose, to renew direction, to repaypast ignored obligations. In short, you havegiven many an opportunity to learn howto live, not just exist.

We rejoiced over the re-opening of ourCommunity Recycling Center. The first fourmonths of operation saw us recycle andsend off for sale 57 tons of product.

Our 2nd Chance Thrift Store remains abright star amongst the several thrift stores

in our community. We provided high valueitems for low fiscal cost. Additionally, wewere able to assist several hundred personsthrough our innovative voucher program. This program is designed to interface with

Parole and Probation, Department of Hu-man Services and other social serviceagencies, as well as local churches, to pro-

vide needy items at no cost to the individ-ual.

All of these things have been made pos-sible by our Father though dear ones just

like you. None of what we did would havebeen possible without you. You haveserved your God well and we are most

thankful. We will continue to look to Him,though you, to make 2008 even more

effective and successful. The need is huge.People made in the image of God,whether they acknowledge it or not, have

been severely marred by sin. We can see
