A Reconciling in Christ congregation
January 28, 2018
Fourth Sunday after Epiphany
Sound, Space, Spirit is a special short term fundraising emphasis undertaken at Trinity Lutheran Church in Lynnwood
during Lent 2018 with a challenge raise $150,000 for a much needed upgrade to our sound system and an urgent need
to replace our aging flooring. Together we carry out a ministry that seeks to be faithful to the Lord Jesus and a blessing to
our community.
The goals for this special fundraiser include:
Celebrating what God is doing in our lives and through the ministry of Trinity Lutheran;
Joining together to encourage and support each other in this faith community; and
Sharing generously in this fundraiser to reach our $150,000 goal in order to provide for a safe and welcoming space
for our worship and service ministries.
Our activities in this special Lenten fundraising effort will culminate on Palm Sunday, March 25, when all gifts will be
totaled and announced to the congregation after worship. Before then everyone will receive a ‘Gift Card’ that is to be
completed and returned to Trinity at any time during the coming weeks. Several information meetings will also provide an
opportunity to learn more about the details of the sound system and flooring upgrades that are being planned.
A brochure with more information was mailed this past week and is also available in the narthex. Stay tuned for more
details in the weeks ahead!

Sunday Adult Education: Teaching the Psalms Sundays through Feb 11, 9 AM at Trinity We rightly speak of faith in Jesus, but we should give serious thought to the faith of Jesus. The Psalms—the prayers and songs of Jesus’ people the Jews—were formative for Jesus’ own faith in and service to the God of Israel whom he called Father.
Jesus famously called us to follow him. In our Psalm study we will seek to follow Jesus into the Psalms so that our faith in and faithfulness to the Father may more resemble Jesus’ own faith and faithfulness. The Psalms: poetry and prayer, complaint and worship, joy and sorrow. Bring your bibles. All are welcome.

Welcome our Call Committee Trinity Lutheran Church is moving forward! Thank you to everyone who attended the Special Congregational Meeting last Sunday, January 21. Attendance was strong, spirits were high, and the energy surrounding the transition process was electric. In the midst of great fellowship, we as a congregation voted to approve the updated constitution, heard of Pointe of Grace’s intentions to work with the synod on the next steps towards independence, heard a brief overview of 2017 year-end finances, and elected our Call Committee (names listed below). Soli deo gloria!
