Religious Education God freely created humankind to have us share in His own blessed life. He calls us to seek Him, to know Him, to love Him with all our strength. Bap-tism, though it is a Sacrament of Initiation, is also

a sacrament of ultimate belonging. Consider the following:

Baptism seals the Christian with the indelible spiritual mark of his belonging to Christ. No sin can erase this mark, even if sin prevents Baptism from bearing the fruits of salvation.

We belong so much that we can’t un-belong, even if we choose to reject God’s offer of salvation. Exploring this be-longing with your family can help Baptism become more than something our parents chose for us when we were ba-bies. Here are some questions to ponder:

•What does it mean to belong to Christ? How can/should this affect how you live?

•What happens to your mark if you sin? What happens to your belonging if you sin?

Everyone, regardless of age, needs a sense of belonging. Sometimes during our lives we do ridiculous, even dangerous thing to get it. It makes sense: God created us to be relation-ship with Him.

Youth Ministry All Youth (Grades 6-12) are invited to attend the North Side Youth Ministry meetings on Tuesday evenings at 6:30 PM at St Charles Parish located at 4515 N Alberta Street.

High School Youth from St Joseph Parish will gather on Sun-day evenings at 7:00 PM for a time of homework, praying together, and socializing.

2020 Women’s Conference

The Upper Room Think about what happened there in the Upper Room: Jesus directed his disciples to prepare his final Passover meal that became his last supper, where he showed us how to gather, wash feet, give thanks and break bread; he gave us the Eucharist here. Later, Jesus’ parting words at his Ascension, he instructed them to go there again to pray for the “gift of the Fa-ther.” So with Mary, they went up those familiar steps to the Cenacle-another way of saying the dining room. This is the room where it happens!

You are invited here-to be refreshed in your faith, fed by Je-sus’ body and inspired by the Holy Spirit to go and be the disciple you were called to be when you first said YES to God. We can’t wait to se you in The Upper Room.

Knights of Columbus Blood Drive Each year 5 million Americans need blood transfusions. The United States uses some 36,000 units of red blood cells each year. Those units come from the 6.8 million do-nors who regularly give blood. However, that number of donors is down 25% from 10 years ago. When major disasters occur we all think to give blood. But it is the blood already on the shelves that saves the most lives.

The process of giving blood is easy and something most of us can do. Check out your eligibility by visiting the Vitalant website for more information.
