The results are in!

Allison ElderSalon Papillon, Des Peres, MOI've been doing hair since I started my apprenticeship in 2004 and working at Salon Papillon for almost 2 years. I feel very fortunate to be able to work in such a beautiful salon with so many talented and supportive people. About a year ago I started to network with a group of photographers, models, make up artists, etc... in efforts to build up my hair portfolio. This has been a really rewarding experience for me and has opened up a lot of opportunities to be creative outside of the salon such as photo shoots, fashion shows, or special events. My goal is to continue to surround myself with people who are just as passionate about the industry as I am and to continue to advance myself and better my craft through continued education.

The Look... My goal with Mandi was to give her a fun, youthful, and eye-catching look. Different shades of vibrant reds and coppers, from PM the color were paired together to give her hair a beautiful multi reflective color. I used Paul Mitchell Dual Purpose Lightener with a 10 volume developer to highlight the hair for added interest and contrast. A rectangular shape was sectioned off on top of the head from outer brows to crown, followed by diagonal lines from the crown to behind each ear creating two triangle sections. Highlights were then foiled in using zig zag partings of varying thickness. These highlights helped create some texture and body on her naturally fine/limp hair, especially at the crown. After trimming up the perimeter of her hair, short round layers were point cut in to help create a soft shape to her haircut. A long fringe was cut to give her the versatility to part it on either side. Moroccanoil was applied to the damp hair shaft before the blow dry to provide a high shine and weightless feel. Extra-Body Daily Boost by Paul Mitchell was applied close to the scalp to give lift and volume to the hair. The fringe was then smoothed out using a paddle brush, while I dried the rest of her hair with my hands to give her a flirty tousled feel. I Finished Mandi off with Extra-Body Finishing Spray.
