Since 1882, the Midwest’s most well known entertainers, the Chmielewski Family,have been synonymous with polka music. Over 100 years later and into five succeed-ing generations, the Chmielewski Family music has never stopped. In 1989, the“Chmielewski Family Funtime Band” swept the Minnesota Music Academy and forthree consecutive years dominated by winning nine out of the eleven awards in thepolka field. They produced over 1800 television shows broadcast throughout the U.S.and Canada. The leader of the band, Florian Chmielewski was inducted into the Min-nesota Music Hall of Fame (New Ulm, MN) in 1994, and into Ironworld DiscoveryCenter Polka Hall of Fame (Chisholm, MN) in 1995.

Kids Pro Ice Racing is a non-profit youthice racing association based in the TwinCities region. We have over 30 active fam-ilies who teach kids safe driving and racingpractices as well as good sportsmanship andfriendship.We offer twelve racing classes from Ama-

teur Kitty Cat and 120 to the “Big Guns”Formula 1, Champ 120 and Junior Novice.Our racers range from 4 to 14 years of ageand we are well known for producing someof the finest racers in ORA (Oval RacersAlliance, the Big Guys).Our season begins at the end of December

and runs through early March. We take

pride in how well our families get along andshare race and tech tips as well as watch outfor each others little racers on race day.This is a great way to spend Minnesota andWisconsin winters as a family!Getting started is easy. We have race-

ready sleds available to those with seriousinterest, so you can try before committing.If you have a 120 or Kitty Cat yard snow-mobile, we will show you how to prepare itfor safe racing. Other race-ready snowmo-biles are usually available for purchase.

The Wild River Snowmo-bile Club has been active inthe sport of snowmobilingsince 1967. We are a volun-teer organization made upof about 50 families. TheWRSC helps maintain ap-proximately 125 miles oftrail throughout southernChisago County. Thesetrails stretch from the Wash-ington County line to aboutthe Sunrise River, from nearForest Lake to the St. CroixRiver, and cross the prop-erty of over 200 landown-ers. In fact, over 90% of ourlocal trail system is on pri-vate property. The WRSC

would like to remind allsnowmobilers to stay on thetrails, be courteous to otherriders, and respectlandowner's property. Ourtrail system relies on thegenerosity of area landown-ers who allow us to crosstheir property.

In conjunction with theLakes Chamber of Com-merce, the Wild RiverSnowmobile Club will behosting the Celebration ofthe Lakes Radar Run lo-cated on North Center Lakeon January 31st 2015. Lookfor details on both theChamber web site and the
