Diwali (or Deepavali, the "festival of lights") is an ancient Hindu festival celebrated in autumn (northern hemisphere) or spring (southern hemisphere) every year. Diwali is one of the largest and brightest festivals in India. The festival spiritually signifies the victory of light over darkness, knowledge over ignorance, good over evil, and hope over despair. Its celebration includes millions of lights shining on housetops, outside doors and windows, around temples and other buildings in the communities and countries where it is observed. The festival preparations and rituals typically extend over a five-day period, but the main festival night of Diwali coincides with the darkest, new moon night of the Hindu Luni solar month Kartika. In the Gregorian calendar, Diwali night falls between mid-October and mid-November.
Jaipur Municipal corporation also celebrated Diwali on 11th Nov 2015 at JMC premises. Honorable Mayor Mr. Nirmal Nahata gave best wishes to citizens of Jaipur on Diwali.

Auto Art
Jaipurites were all set to witness Auto Art by turning the Auto Rickshaws into Mobile Art Gallery.
About 100 autos have been painted to display the Culture of Rajasthan and to promote folk art.
These autos were already on road and were available to visitors at Sanganer Airport, Hawa Mahal, Amber Fort, Jal Mahal and Albert Hall.
Automobile Art, an art form which is yet to spread its roots in India, is being promoted by Jaipur Municipal Corporation.
The most charming event of this Auto Art Festival was that autos will be meandering all over the map of Jaipur, hand painted on the theme of Rajasthan’s heritage and culture.
The main theme for this Festival is the promotion of artists, people who have great vision and imagination powers, who love playing with colors but are normally not being supported by their families and society. So this is a stroke of luck for these budding artists to brandish their talents and make a mark in the society.
