My six weeks training was confined to four different section
Trolley shop Bogie shop
LHB shop Maintenance shop
1. TROLLEY SHOP:-
• It is known as a the separated part containing the wheel and other similar components which are essential to run a coach.
• The body is attached to the trolley.• Trolley is made up of stainless steel.• Mechanical properties:- Ductile in nature.• Tensile strength of yield stress is about 0.2%
of deformation.
TROLLEY SHOP:-
• Parts of Trolley :-1. Trolley Frame- Main component.2. Center Pivot- Centrally suited hole indicate the
correct position of trolley when fitted with body.3. Side bearing- Made of bronze which distribute
the weight throughout the trolley.4. Brake cylinder- Trolley have two brake cylinders.
These are used for applying brake throughout the wheels.
2. BOGIE SHOP:-
• Bogie is two-axle type. It is made up of cast iron.• It has primary and secondary suspensions.• It has solid welded bogie frame made up of two
longitudinal components connected by two cross beams.
• Primary suspension consists of two steel coil springs laid on control arm upper part.
• Secondary suspension consists of two springs which sustain the bolster beam over the bogie frame.
BOGIE SHOP:-
• Parts of Bogie:-1. Traction centre:- It transmit traction and
braking forces between bogie frame and body by traction lever on the bolster beam.
2. Disk Brakes:- It is fitted with pneumatic disk brakes. It is fitted with automatic devices for applying the brakes.
3. Taper roller cartridge bearing:- It is fitted with 130 mm Cartridge type roller bearing.
3. LHB(LINKE HOFFMAN BUSCH)SHOP:-
• Parameters of LHB coaches:-1. Max axle load:- 16 tonnes2. Higher speed potential:- 180km/hr
upgradable to 250 km/hr3. Overall dimensions:- 1676mm4. Max width:- 3240mm5. Height of compartment from rail level:-
1303mm
LHB SHOP:-VARIOUS PARTS OF LHB:- • Wheel:- Made of stainless steel.
Cylindrical portion having an outer edge shape to fit in the railway track.
• Axle:- Main long cylindrical bar on which the wheels are fixed with help of bearings. Braking disc are connected on the axle.
• Axle Bearing:- Axle bearing on the bogie are fitted with sensors for detecting speed.
4.MAINTNANCE SHOP:-
• Maintenance of the trains is an important criteria for every coaching facility and workshop.
• This is very important to run the system smoothly and to look after the passenger safety.
• Three type of maintenance:-1. Primary Maintenance.2. Round trip Maintenance.3. Secondary Maintenance.
MAINTENANCE SHOP:-
• MAINTENANCE SCHEDULES AND THE OVERHAULING PERIODS:-
1. A-Schedule-after 30 days.2. B-Schedule-after 90 days.3. C-Schedule-after 180 days.4. Intermediate overhauling-after 9 months.5. Periodic overhauling-after returning date given
by the workshop.6. Non periodic overhauling-after 12 -18 months.
