Jackson loved all different sports, but he especially loved soccer. Everyday after school he would practice kicking the ball until the sun came down.

Oscar and Liam constantly encouraged Jackson to join the school’s soccer team. They saw that he could run as fast as a cheater and bend the ball like Beckham.

The only reason Jackson wouldn’t join the team is because of how tall and lanky he was. He was afraid everyone would laugh at him .

Jackson’s parents, friends and cousins all were encouraging him to join the team. They saw something special in him.

Come on!

Everyone's encouragement helped push Jackson forward and to follow his ultimate soccer dream to become the next David Beckham…or just part of the soccer team.

Jackson showed up nervously half an hour early to the school soccer game. Everyone was laughing like a bunch of hyenas as he arrived.

HAHAHA!!!

When the game started Jackson tackled a player. He gained possession of the ball and ran down the open field like a jolt of lightning. Then he struck the ball scoring his first goal! At that moment he turned around to see his team giving him high fives and the crowd cheering for him.

Jackson then became very popular. He joined the team permanently and had a great time.

Jackson’s team won most of the games for the rest of the season and made it into the grand final, with Jackson’s help of course.

On grand final day, the most important day of the year, everyone excitedly arrived and warmed up.

When the game had started no one scored in the first half….

Or the second half.

But when extra time had begun Liam kicked off to Oscar. Oscar ran down the field and crossed it to Jackson. Jackson then headed the ball into the top right hand corner of the net.

Everyone went crazy!!!!

That night, as Jackson was thinking about his day, he had a thought of how his life would have been if he had not overcome his fear. Him being tall was not so bad after all. In fact it led him to his shining moment.
