Club Officer Books and Record Books
Club officer books are due to the CEO by October 1st (date is different than usual). These include the Treasurer, Sec-
retary, and Historian books. It is mandatory for all club’s Treasurer books to be turned in for audit. Member’s record
books are due to the club leaders so check with them for a due date. Record book forms are available at the CEO and
are also posted on our website at www.extension.iastate.edu/jackson/4h.
County 4-H Awards All Jackson County 4-H’ers are eligible to receive county awards. 4-H’ers in grades 4-6 are eligible for the Junior Rec-
ord Keeping Award, Outstanding First Year Member, and Junior Merit. Intermediate and Senior 4-H’ers may receive
Merit awards, submitted by club leaders.
County Project Awards 4-H’ers in grades 7-12 may apply for County Project awards. Applications are available at the
CEO or on the Jackson County webpage and need to have support material attached to the ap-
plication. Deadline for submitting county project award is September 15 to the Extension
Office.
What’s a County Project A ward? County Project Awards are another way for 4-H’ers to be
recognized for the hard work they put in to certain project areas. In the application 4-H’ers more closely describe the skills they
learn through their 4-H experience and why it’s important to them. In the support material they can include other artifacts, news-
paper articles, pictures, ribbons, etc. to help support their application. Applications are posted on our website. Project evaluation
is similar to that used for the state project awards: https://www.extension.iastate.edu/4h/files/page/files/
application_project_2018_july_re.pdf. Awards are announced and given at the Recognition Banquet.
Krista Grant Community Service Award A Jackson County 4-H club may apply for the Community Service Award each fall by completing the nomination form
about the club's citizenship activity (activities) for the 4-H year that is just finishing. The form is due to the Jackson
County Extension Office by September 15. We prefer this form be completed by the Youth Leader of the project(s).
Application is posted on our website at https://www.extension.iastate.edu/jackson/4h.
