The ICF is multi-purpose classification and has broad uses such as in:

ICF is a multi-purpose tool

Accepted as one of the United Nations social classifications, the ICF provides an appropriate standard for monitoring the implementation of international human rights mandates such as the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD)*.

The ICF has potential use not only for the implementation of the CRPD, but also for other policy contexts such as implementation of national legislation.
