Team Member Engagement Survey 2017
Message from President & CEO
David Strong
As an organization, we are com-
mitted to achieving our strategic
imperative to become the best
place to work and believe that
you’re why we are the best hospi-
tal possible. We want to hear more
from you about making Orlando
Health an irresistible and great
place to work.
To help gather your ideas and com-
ments efficiently, we are once
again launching our annual Team
Member Engagement Survey
through The Advisory Board Com-
pany based in Washington DC.
All team members should have
received an email from me with
their survey link and unique pass-
word.
Security
In light of the recent national and
international cyber-attacks and
the extra caution our team mem-
bers are now taking with external
emails, I made the decision to
send this initial survey email with
your survey link and password
from my mailbox. There will be
reminder emails throughout the
survey period sent on my behalf
from the Advisory Board with the
“from” line reading: Orlando
Health Team Member Survey
Confidentiality
You should know that the Adviso-
ry Board protects the identity of
all team members who respond
to the survey. To ensure confi-
dentiality only the Advisory Board
will receive the data gathered
from the survey. The results are
reported as an average and your
name will never be linked to your
responses.
Support
If you have any questions you
may contact the Orlando Health
HR Solutions Center at
321.841.8623 for assistance.
Team members at Physician Asso-
ciates, South Lake Hospital,
Health Central Hospital and
Health Central Park may contact
their local HR offices for assis-
tance. You may also visit https://
advisorysurveys.com/help to
view commonly asked questions
or to submit a help request.
The survey takes about five to
eight minutes to complete and is
available online and accessible via
computer, tablet, or mobile de-
vice.
Your personal feedback is ex-
tremely important to me and the
organization. Thank you for your
continued willingness to share
your input. Your contributions are
what make us a great place to
work and receive care!

O2 left in it.

O2 TANKS ATTENTION:
HELP! Please assist us in letting
team members know that the
O2 tanks stored in the USED
racks on the floors can still be
used until empty.
Reminders:
USED tanks should be used 1st
(if not empty).
Look and read the pressure
regulator dial.
This will prevent waste of O2.
It’s OK to use partially-filled
cylinders, but they are not to
be stored with unopened ones,
per JC. Everyone is doing a
great job in separating FULL
and USED tanks. Below are
pictures of portable E cylinders
properly stored.

Mepilex Sacral Border dressing can
be used as a prevention measure
against pressure injuries, moisture
damage and shearing/friction of the
Sacrum. The earlier the prevention
is better.
WARNING: If the dressing is used
to cover a wound or skin break-
down there must be a physician’s
order. If it is being used as preven-
tion it is a nursing order.
Step #1 Use the below criteria list
is as guideline for placement of the
dressing. If they don’t meet criteria
but you still feel they need it, it is
better to era on the side of caution
and apply the dressing. This list is
found in all wound care carts on
the units.
Step #2 Make sure that the order is
activated in Sunrise so that the
“change dressing every 72 hour
task is generated on the task list.
The A in RACE stands for:
ASSESS
ASSESS the situation.
ALARM
Pull the ALARM.
ARRANGE
ARRANGE for patient safety.
RACE and PASS are acronyms
to help us remember what to do in
the event of a fire. We need to
know the meaning of these acro-
nyms without looking at our badg-
es. Each week you will get a
chance to win a prize if you email
O'Brien, Lynn M.
with the correct answer. The
12th responder gets the prize.

ioral patient’s.

identify and de-escalate a potential
risk for harm to the patient and
yourself. The Education Dept. will
be offering 5 sessions for you to
pick from.
Please check your available sched-
ules and register in Net Learning
for one of the sessions.

conference room.
August 23rd 9a-11a or 1p-3p in the
NTC classrooms.
More information to come for the
Emergency Dept. PCT’s and Para-
medics, stay tuned.
Work out loud/narrate your
care
Fix the white board during
bedside shift report - before
you leave the room
Always introduce yourself and
state the purpose of your visit
and ask for permission before
doing anything with or to the
patient – especially if it is an
invasive procedure (lab draw,
IV, finger stick).
It has been three weeks since we
wrapped phase one of the patient
experience simulation sessions. I
wanted to share some of the in-
sights and comments that team
members as their “take aways” at
the end of each session:
Check the name band during
report
It is bedside shift report, not
doorway shift report, not at
the red line shift report – we
have to get in there.
Review of Simulation Sessions
