I also created several groups with over 25,000 members on LinkedIn for Project Server & SharePoint. I am adept at creating training content with Camtasia and SnagIT – I have developed numerous online training videos using this software. In 2013 my organization implemented SharePoint 2010. This implementation reduced my division’s involvement (Information Technology) in the content management process. Over 160 content managers were drafted to look after their divisional and departmental content on the corporate portal – this removing the web services group from the process and speeding up the delivery of content. In the fall of 2015 we upgraded our SharePoint infrastructure to SharePoint 2013. During this time I updated all internal training content to reflect the new functionality in SharePoint 2013. To better meet the demands of our content managers & team sites owners I created over 15 online training sessions. The sessions were broken down into logical portions that are easy to digest, understand and follow along. You no longer have to wait for formal training sessions in the training room to learn how to use SharePoint! This content was made available on our team site for content managers / team site owners.

To effectively manage and control the content on the portal, I introduced SharePoint governance and I was the driving force in getting it implemented in our organization. I worked with client divisions drafting policies and procedures for governance, the result was a complete governance document which was approved by all client divisions in the LCBO. Using the governance document I created a governance web site on our corporate portal for all staff, including portal content managers and team sites owners (over 200). In February 2016 I retired from the LCBO after 34 years of service 25 in Information Technology).

In October 2016 I started my own consulting company – Ivor Davies IT Consulting Services Inc. My first contract was with UNICCS Consulting Services of Mississauga. My current engagement is with The Cole Engineering Group Inc. (in Markham, Ontario). My primary role is to provide IT Business Analyst services and to assist them in their first intranet using SharePoint Online in Office 365. I am assisting them with the expanded use of Office 365 services including SharePoint Online, Yammer, Delve, OneDrive For Business. I have developed their Office 365 Video portal for internal training & support content.
