Parks: key dates

• 1870 : Creation of Yellowstone Park (USA) 1st Parc naturel in the world.

• 1909 : Creation of the 1st Nature Preserve in Europe (Swede n)

• 1963 : Creation of the 1st National Park french: The Vano ise.

• 1968 : Creation of the 1st Regional Nature Park : Saint Amand Raisme.

• 1969/1970: Creation of 8 regional nature parks whose Park Bri ère.

A regional natural Park is :

• A fragile rural area, recognized nationally for its strong heritage and landscape.

• A cooperative project to ensure sustainabledevelopment based on the protection andenhancement of cultural heritage.

• A charter contract is renewable every 12 years and urging partners. It is materializedin a reference plane.

Vocation of a Regional Natural Park

A Regional Nature Park's mission is to protect andenhance the natural, cultural and human affairs of itsterritory by implementing an innovation policy, plann ing and economic development, social and cultural environment-friendly.

Missions of a Regional Natural Park

• Maintain and enhance the living heritage, includingthrough appropriate management of the naturalenvironment and landscape.

• Contribute to Regional Planning.

• Sharing a life project (contributing to the economic, so cial and cultural development and quality of life by providingcare, education and public information)

• Taking the risk of innovation and experimentation andcontribute to research programs.
