A. The Building Management System (BMS) shall monitor operation and provide enable / disable operation to the snow melt system.

B. Coordinate with the snow melt system manufacturer the available points that can

be viewed and or controlled via the BACnet interface. C. The BMS shall run the snow melt system in an idle setting until an event is

expected. The BMS provider shall coordinate with the Snow Melt System provider the appropriate time at which to enable the system beyond the idle set point prior to an event and how long the system shall be enabled.

Recognizing that time will be of the essence, the undersigned proposes, upon execution of the Agreement

1.5 QUALITY ASSURANCE

1.6 DELIVERY, STORAGE, AND HANDLING

A. General: Comply with Division 01 Product Requirements Section.

B. Delivery: Deliver materials in manufacturer’s original, unopened, undamaged containers with identification labels intact.

C. Packaging Waste Management.

1. Separate waste materials for reuse and recycling in accordance with section 01 74 19 – Construction Waste Management and Disposal.

2. Remove packaging materials from site and dispose of at appropriate recycling facilities. 3. Collect and separate for disposal all packaging materials for recycling. 4. Fold metal and plastic banding, flatten and place in designated area for recycling.

D. Storage and Protection: Store materials protected from exposure to harmful environmental conditions and at temperature and humidity conditions recommended by the manufacturer.

(256 – 320 kg./cu. m.) high density acoustically transparent layer, and finished as detailed in this section.

b. Core shall be free of surface defects and sanded as required to a uniform thickness, which will not vary by more than +/- 0.03” (1.0 mm).

c. Panels shall be fabricated to sizes required by field dimensions supplied by the installing contractor. Panels will be fabricated using CAD-CAM robotics cutting system and will not vary from determined sizes to a tolerance of +/- 0.06” (1.6 mm) vertically and horizontally.

d. Edges shall be metal, covered by panel fabric to withstand moderate impact during installation and ongoing maintenance, providing a uniform appearance. Soft, non-framed, and chemically-hardened edge treatments are not acceptable.

e. All panels shall be clearly text marked with the project I.D. number, panel number, location code, quantity of units per size, and correspond to the shop drawings or bill of materials.

f. Panels shall have noise coefficient values of the following when tested in accordance with section 1.03 of this specification.

PART 3 - EXECUTION

3.1 EXAMINATION

A. Inspect areas and conditions where acoustical treatment is to be installed. Notify Architect in writing of any conditions that would adversely affect the installation or subsequent effectiveness of panels. Do not proceed with installation until unsatisfactory conditions are corrected.

B. On site storage shall be such as to assure that all panels and associated materials are protected from damage, and storage area is climatically controlled to normal operational levels.

C. Panels must be stored, installed and maintained only in a secure ambient environment [Humidity min. 35% - max. 55%. Temperature not to exceed 80° F (26° C)].

D. Prior to panel installation, the site must be free of all wet and dusty trades and the climatic conditions stabilized to normal operational levels. Panels shall be allowed to stabilize on site 24 hours prior to installation.

E. Do not begin work until all unsatisfactory conditions are resolved. Beginning work constitutes acceptance of site conditions and responsibility for defective installation caused by prior observable conditions.

3.2 PREPARATION

A. Verify that adjacent materials are secure, properly spaced, dry and ready to receive installation.

3.3 INSTALLATION

A. AWP-1: Install per manufacturer’s directions. Shim as required to achieve a smooth monolithic appearance.

B. AWP-2: Installation shall be in accordance with local code requirements, manufacturer’s instructions, and as shown on approved shop drawings, or detail sheets. Installer shall provide shimming and adjustments as required to maintain consistent alignment of joints and finished panel faces, and ensure unstressed clip/mounting locations.

1. Acoustical Wall Panel Installation shall be either by use of slide and engage clips (“Z”

clips), either into a DWC-7 anti-rattle wall clip, or into continuous wall track; or by adhesive; or magnetic mount; or hook and loop mount. Panel clips (DPC-3) and wall clips (DWC-7 or continuous wall track) shall be a minimum 20 gauge satin-coat steel with wall clips mechanically mounted to the back of the panels. All fasteners (wall anchors, screws, adhesive, etc.) are to be supplied by the installing contractor.

2. Panels must only be handled by persons wearing clean light-weight gloves. Personnel installing hardware (wall clips, screws, anchors, etc.) will not handle the panels before putting on clean light-weight gloves.

C. Install acoustical wall panels with surfaces and edges plumb and level and in alignment with other panels. Comply with manufacturer's printed instructions and as indicated in drawings for installation of panels using type of accessories as recommended by manufacturer.

D. Remove and replace panels which are damaged and are unacceptable to Architect.

E. Locate panels as shown on plans.

3.4 CLEAN UP

A. Remove all excess materials, trash and debris from the work area and dispose of legally.

3.5 PROTECTION

A. Protect finished work from damage due to subsequent construction activity on the site.
