Determined, hardworking and achievement driven students are ITD’s most valuable resource. ITD has

played an important role in preparing a student graduate workforce from the early days of its inception.

Looking back, one would marvel at the ITD’s early advocators who had the foresight to underscore the im-portance of polytechnic education in a country where certifications are key to an individual success. Most impressive of all is that polytechnic education has stayed relevant to the development and changes of the general workforce in Canada. Thus its name, practical and functional at the time of incep-tion, has been most appropriately se-lected for the icon of technical career training in this part of the world.

Over the years, it has transformed from being a pacesetter to a trendset-ter and from making history to defin-ing the future.

As Canada’s privately sponsored poly-technic, it has an intriguing history filled with successes, achievements as well as anxieties and crises.

Established in 1999, it has provid-ed education and training for many skilled personnel to the wide-ranging industries and businesses in Canada and beyond.

Today, its enrolment of full-time and part-time students are doing a total 12 diplomas and 2 certificates in busi-ness, computing, design, e-commerce, information technology, hospital-ity management, art, multimedia and technology.

Today, the polytechnic is located stra-tegically in Vancouver , beautiful Brit-ish Columbia, the educational hub in the western part of Canada.

Our graduates have contributed sig-nificantly to their home country’s economic and industrial growth. Many are now well-known entrepreneurs. Others hold positions of responsibili-ty and leadership in industry, business and in public organisations.

"You’re gorgeous, you’re sophisticated, you live well...Vancouver is Manhattan with mountains. It’s a liquid city, a tomorrow city, equal parts India, China, England, France and the Pacific Northwest. It’s the cool North American sibling." – The New York Times

Vancouver

Warmed by Pacific Ocean currents and protected by a range of mountains, Vancouver’s weather is mild year-round. From high 70’s Fahrenheit (low 20’s Celsius) in summer to a mild mid 40’s Fahrenheit (0º to 5º Celsius) in winter, the climate is always hospitable. Our winters are wet, but it rarely snows, except on our local ski hills.
