OUR UNIVERSITY Our University calls «Università degli studi del

Piemonte Orientale Amedeo Avogadro» (UNIPMN), and it is a State University of Piedmont.

The University has a three-fold structure:

The rectory is located in Vercelli, where is sitted the Faculty of

Philosophy and Letters

In Novara there are the faculties of economics,

pharmacy and medicine, surgery and health sciences.

In Alessandria there are the Faculty of Political Science and

Law and the Faculty of Mathematical, Physical and

Natural Sciences.

UNIPMN

The University has the name of the famous Amedeo Avogadro.

He was born in Quaregna, in 1898 and he was a physicist and chemist.

The history of the UNIPMN begins when a joint initiative of the Vercelli Hospital and the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Turin allows the activation of parallel university courses at the premises of Vercelli and shortly after, in Novara and Alessandria.

The official birth of the University of Piemonte Orientale "Amedeo Avogadro", after a period of teaching under the auspices of the University of Turin, lies at the 30th July 1998, when was signed the decree establishing.

UNIVERSITY NETWORK The Ateneo is particularly focusing on the connections

between university and job word, especially in the last years it has developed a even more thick net among university and companies placed on the territory.

An important initiative is the “Career Day” that represents a meeting point for graduates and firms as :

In addition the university offers to their students the opportunity to carry out stages with companies both in Italy and abroad.

OUR DEPARTMENT  Department of Business Management and Environment  

The Department of Business Management and Environment at the University of Eastern Piedmont encompasses five major areas of specialization:

Accounting Economic Geography and Territory Planning Management Financial Markets and Institutions Law

The presence of researchers with heterogeneous scientific backgrounds facilitates the accomplishment of an interdisciplinary approach to teaching and research.

The research focuses on firms, with references to the administration, management and juridical aspects of their activities and to the territorial impact of their operations.

Research progress and results are presented to the Department at internal seminars and published in the Department working papers.

Many research projects are carried on in association with local governments, industrial organizations and other economic actors, both from the profit and no profit sectors.
